At the moment, there is no reason to suggest he will be anywhere near the team, even with the old 'clean slate' cliche new mangers tend to wheel out. He's useless as a centre forward and clearly not going to get in ahead of 3 strikers who scored over 60 goals between them in their last respective seasons in this league. He's hopeless as a wide forward, becuase he doesn't have the brain, the skill or the vision to create and again, he isn't going to get in ahead of Ayew/Grealish or Adomah is he? Thats it, there is no value that he can add. Unless by some miracle of modern times, he somehow becomes a completly different player, he's done. Steve Bruce isn't suddenly going to play him over Kodjia and McCormack, that would be bordering on insanity. And you have Ayew and Gestede in the mix aswell, two of our better players this season. Bruce is very similar to MON.. i think he may be able to motivate Gabby back to some form. May be too late for him.. but if he can get some fitness.. and he works hard for the team.. he wouldnt be a bad option off the bench to close out games.. have him harrass defenders like he used to 5 years ago.
