rodders0223
I'll give Hutton a 2nd chance. We must remember he was playing under a awful manager in mclose. Maybe under lamb-keane he might improve as a player. Lambert is just as bad a manager as McLeish, if not worse. Try again.
Adam_
Sky sports are saying villa blocked transfer to west brom as they didn't want to sell to a rival, not sure how true this is though.
Demitri_C
I think it all depends on how much they offered. If they offering peanuts no point helping them

KHV
I think Hutton will play this season. Lowton and Bacuna were dreadful at right back last season.
DeepDish
Well, WBA is buying Rosenborg's right back Christian Gamboa for 20 mill cash plus add ons. He did well for Costa Rica in the World Cup, so I guess that close the door for Hutton in WBA.

Isa
Charlie Adam last year: “Alan Hutton is the same. There are maybe one or two ahead of him in the Premier League but he’s amongst the best. “He could go to a top-four club without a doubt. He’s got power, pace, strength and, for me, it’s about confidence with him. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/scotland/10444578/Scotland-v-USA-Charlie-Adam-hails-Steven-Fletcher-and-Alan-Huttons-Premier-League-class.html
Mart-L7
There was a classic piece on Hutton in the sun a few weeks ago DaMarcus Beasley said this " I've witnessed Barcelona change tactics for a champions league match because they were scared of Alan's surging runs "
Bunnski
He only has 1 year left on his contract, we need to get him tied down to 5 year deal. In all seriousness tho I'd be happier giving him a new deal than Gabby.
Popular Post TrentVilla Posted August 5, 2014 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted August 5, 2014 I think he must have been out in the sun too long. Regardless, I'm not really a fan of Hutton but neither do I think he is as bad as some have made out at times, we've certainly had worse RB's down the years. In his favour are his pace, strength and ability going forward and the negatives in his game for me at least are his over the top aggression at times and his defensive positioning at times. One thing I would say for him though is that despite the odd dispute with his old man he seemingly has a pretty good attitude and doesn't appear to have caused any bother or complained in what has been a difficult couple of years for him all because of the wages the club decided to give him. Despite press suggestions he didn't kick off when WBA wanted us to let them sign him on a free and as a result looks highly likely to start the season as our first choice RB. What a turn around that will be. I hope he is given a clean slate by the fans and the monkey on his back of being seen as McLeish's man can be dropped as I think that has often clouded opinion on him, myself included.
heid3ster
Hutton's looking good in pre-season and on the basis of these performances, I'd be in favor of giving him the starting RB spot. I've criticised his performances in the past, but he's looking much improved. My worry about him has always been that he's looked like a red card waiting to happen, but if he's removed that rashness from his game (and it looks like he has) then I'm all for welcoming him back to the fold.
sir_gary_cahill
Very good performance from him, comfortable on the ball and nearly all of our attacks came through him, looks like he will start the season at right back for us
juteface
If he's improved then fair play, he deserves another stab at it. I thought he was largely rash and a liability before but like I said, if he's worked on his game and improved that side of it then hats off Alan, you've shown some character and that can be hard to come by these days.
