  1. I think Chelsea lacks leaders on the pitch. And the quotes from Poch about how the players needed to prove they are not dependent on Cole Palmer might backfire, as there seems to be tensions among the players already.
  2. I echo the sentiment of everyone else here. But would also add that he is an absolute gentleman on the pitch.
  3. Thinking that maybe we want Chelsea to draw in this match and lose in extra time or even better penalties. Might be the disappointment that end their season and form.
  4. Is there an annual meeting in the association for bipolar people in this thread?
  5. He is complaining and quite a few of their players are some real cheats.

The thing is that our attacks from Bailey will also be better with Cash as RB. Konsa just seem to struggle a bit with going forward and the passes to Bailey. He either under hit or over hit the balls, while Cash has had some perfect balls that give Bailey the perfect start against the opposition defence.
  7. I am planning to bring my father to the Chelsea game, and use the Lower Ground experience. We are coming from Norway and as such have limited history (my last game at Villa Park was in January 2020 against Watford). I tried to buy two tickets from the web page, but was not allowed. Is there a lot of hassle to get tickets to family and friends? Or am I just a muppet who does not understand the things to do?
  8. Plot twist: City get a 20 points deduction and both we and Tottenham goes into top 4. English teams fail in CL, and United, who sneak ahead of City after their deduction stand outside CL despite getting 5th
  9. Does that also mean that we will beat Chelsea too? As they are on the beach?
  10. Nah, Important result for the health of Villatalk. As we don't have to read all the worries about Chelsea overtaking us. I do think Chelsea will overtake Man United, though.
  11. And how can anyone seriously suggest that a team that has gotten two points in the last three matches suddenly go on a winning spree and get 15-16 Bpoints in their last 7 matches? Because if Villa get 3 points from the last 6 matches, United will ned to get 5 victories to overtake us.
  12. Lots of people in this thread that don't understand statistics and numbers. We are far better off now than we were three matches ago!
  13. He was a lot better than Pau and Konsa today. Think those two had one of their worst matches in a Villa shirt.
  14. Disappointing that several of our key players were having a mare. Think both Pau, Konsa, Luiz and McGinn had a very bad game today. And I don't understand the sub of Bailey, who was always creating something. In fact, our last sub did us no good, it actually made us lose the momentum.
  15. Who the **** are Man United? Who the **** are Man United? Who the **** are Man United? And the Reds go marching on!
  16. I think when we finish next Thursday, we will look back and think it was a good decision to save players tonight in a game we probably would have lost anyway. Win against Brentford and Lille woukd put us very much in charge of our own success this season. And saving players and giving fringe players game time will certainly improve our odds in our two next matches, that are of extreme importance.
  17. Difficult first half for him. Lots of poor passes, ran himself into trouble with the ball and missed completely the offside trap for the goal. Much better in the second half-
  18. Bingo! There has been a lot of criticism against Cash this season, some of it quite unfounded IMO.
  19. I think the combination of West Ham pressing very correctly against our two left playing CBs (they forced specially Lenglet to use his right foot when playing out from behind) and Tieleman and Luiz not being available made it very difficult for us in the first half. We just were not our usual self with the ball.
  20. Lenglet and Torres was having a nightmare first half, but I think our midfield did not make it easy for them, as neither Tielesman nor Luiz made themselves available.
  21. It seemed that Emery wanted Digne to play higher up in the pitch, and that he was afraid that Rogers would be more of a passenger than the players that entered the pitch. Looks a good move in retrospect.

    Matty Cash

Agree with the last two posters. Good game today.
  23. I think he played very well today. Looks more and more solid. Was of course a miscommunication with Martinez, but very solid. I have asked the quiestion why we got this guy on loan, but I am very glad we did this loan now. I think he is a lot better than Carlos.
  24. I think this was his worst performance this season. The amount of passes ending up at at Chelsea player was staggering.
