The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread

Usual Grealish performance ..... danced around with the ball, showed his individual skills but contributed nothing with no end product and an obvious lack of awareness as to what his role was. He doesn't score, he doesn't tackle well, he doesn't defend well, he doesn't cross well, his vision is poor and his passing has no impact ..... usually backwards.

Pretty to watch, interesting hair but a pointless player who delivers nothing of use to a struggling team.

That is the crux of it isn’t it. In a struggling team he will never flourish. Paul Merson before the game said pretty much the same thing.

I am in no doubt that Grealish is a very talented player but to me he lacks confidence to really impose himself on a game and take chances when in possession. It is all too safe from him the majority of the time. I think that comes from being in a side totally lacking in confidence. The only time he has looked really good was in the spell when Sherwood first arrived and the whole squad was lifted for a while and the shackles came off and confidence returned.

Get him playing directly behind McCormack and see what he can do. Massive talent, needs someone confident making half-intelligent runs for him to get assists.

Get a destroyer (Jedinak?) in, and play 4-2-3-1 with Grealish at 10. Adama on the right and then Green or the hugely frustrating Ayew on the left.

Hes more anonymous than Gil was.. at least Gil was involved and tried to move and pass. Grealish was fading in and out of the game.. started brightly and just faded. Overrated player.

Playing a league 2 side.. he should have run that shit. He ran away from it instead. Massively disappointed but not surprised.

A bit harsh . . . He hit the post with a bullet of a shot that beat the keeper, half an inch to one side and we wouldn't be saying he has 'no end product'.

one of the few people to leave the field with any credit whatsoever last night for me. wasnt great, but hardly embarrased himself. Looked promising linking up with Amavi at times going forward however awful the team performance was.

Considering he looks like he may have some talent, he isn't seeming to use it. He should be taking teams like Luton apart, but he isn't and doesn't seem like he wants to. He picks up the ball, does a couple of shimmys, cuts inside, then lays the ball off.

He needs to start going at players with confidence, and believing he is better than the. At the moment, he is doing enough creatively on the ball. He should be able to play anywhere across the field and have an influence. Sadly, showing nothing more than any of the home grown talent at present.

The way it looks like we may need to setup, I'd have Grealish as the number 10 with McCormack and Ayew ahead of him.  There are, currently, the 3 players in our squad who look comfortable enough on the ball.

Gestede doesn't work unless we play width and seek to cross the ball - so let's sack that off and implement something that suits our players.  I can't see much harming in using 3 central midfielders (Tshibola/Westwood/<x>) with the aforementioned attacking trio ahead of them.  Tshibola and <x> can do the main defensive work, Westwood can pass it to Grealish and those 3 can try and create something.

You need to get over him.
