Remind me which big clubs Gascoigne played for 🤣. Embarrassing quote, some of these ex-footballers clearly headed the ball too many times.

Was just about to say the same thing.

He went to Lazio, where they wanted rid almost as soon as he got there.  Other than that he played for

Newcastle when the were shit

Spurs when they were shit

Rangers where he was good (but who wouldn’t be?)

Everton when he was shit

And a couple of other teams where he could barely get a game.

I’m not saying this out of spite, but quite frankly Gascoigne is overrated.

I remember when we nearly signed him before we went to Rangers

I hate it when Grealish is likened to Gazza. Totally different players

He's much more like George Best.

Not having that….

I saw Gazza play many times he was a great player.

Not elite like your Ronaldos etc but deserves all the plaudits he gets.

Different to Jack but just as exciting.

If I remember right the ref dropped his yellow card Gazza picked it up and as he gave it back pretended to book him and the ref then booked gazza

Anybody remember the chippy in Sutton called George’s Best? Always good for a bag of chips or a punch in the face after a night out!

Yes, exactly as you remembered and it was hilarious, I mean proper LOL and the ref made a fool of himself.

Gascoigne is probably the best English player I've seen, in 1990 I think he was probably the best player in the world.

The player that Grealish most reminds me of is Cruyff, the low socks, the sway, the ability to run past people, all of that stuff.

He was rediculously good and was one of the best players, if not the best of the 1990 world cup. He did his knee in the spurs v Forest Cup final, through he own fault, a reckless challenge and after that was never as good. It was  massive loss to england and Graham Taylor in the 94 qualification campaign. he also made the mistake of joining Lazio. italian football never suited him.

Thanks that is very informative
