To summarise my thoughts, it started being reported as "It's a done deal!" Then it was reported as "A deal is Close! I am 100% confident it will happen" Now we are at "Man City have opened talks, but Villa aren't looking to sell and Jack is not looking to force a move" It seems to me like it's moving further away from being a "Done deal". As has been mentioned by a few, including Simon Jordan. Jack has four years left on his current deal, Villa are in the driving seat here and under no pressure to sell. We have great owners, are debt free so don't need the cash. Jack won't force a move as he still has time on his side and a World Cup is fast looming. Jack is more than a player he’s very much a symbol of that for many fans IMO I can’t disagree with any of that. Football fans will always bait opposing fans and social media is the perfect platform to do this. One thing I have always liked about Simon Jordan - and so it does not surprise me that he is saying this - is his insistence on the idea that contracts should actually mean something. At the very least it’s clear he’s tempted - or there would be no discussion with Citeh at all. Either way they’ve done a grand job of disrupting our pre-season. The thing that mudies that is he was in the home kit launch media, as it was filmed and shot prior to the Euros. Who's to say the away kit wasn't too? If it was done back then that will speak more volumes to what's going on if he's not included. Because if City stump up £150m say, then he might very well be for sale and they would look very stupid. It may be frustrating but it really is better for the club not to react to every rumour and just go about their business quietly.
