Unfortunately our maverick genius head coach has decided that, despite the personnel at his disposal, boring defensive football is the way to win tournaments. Sad. P. S. Even more tragically the FA are going to stick with this uninspiring, clueless numpty regardless. Never mind he always looks so smart and never swears. The nation’s grandmothers will be delighted. That will be the sorry state of affairs with the Germans. We play like France except they have 4 or 5 players who will produce a moment of magic to get a goal. Jack won't get a game tomorrow, I'm sure of it. Southgate wants to keep things tight and I can see him playing the same style as the last three games. Keep it tight and try to use pace at the top end of the pitch. Germany have a weak-looking attacking lineup so we should be looking to put more trust in our defence and try to exploit weaknesses in their defence more. It’s almost like they’ve been asked not to mention him. Southgate is a formulaic manager with little of no imagination or flair. Stepping outside of the safe zone isn’t in his makeup and that is exactly what the FA want. The last thing they want is the media asking difficult questions. They couldn’t care less about winning tournaments they just don’t want anyone to rock the boat. They definitely don’t want to have to go to the trouble of making decisions or heaven forbid appoint a new manager. Southgate has got a job for life. Let’s face it no club is going to poach him.
