Before having a kid I always thought I was way too selfish and liked doing my own thing too much to enjoy being a parent but the whole experience has been amazing. Our boy Leo is 6months old now and I couldn't imagine a world without him now. Never ever thought i'd say this but being a parent is ace.

Wait until they get to 7 and they don't listen

I agree, toddler age is my favourite because they become your best little mate and are at an age where awe is a thing, so showing them stuff is really fun, regardless of difficulty or whatever.

I'm a bit jealous. I really hope the wife and I will manage to get pregnant soon. Would mean the world to me.

Trying for a baby is a funny time isn’t it, you spend your entire adult life trying to get some action but then as soon as it’s guaranteed it feels a bit like a chore.

We tried for 18 months before catching for my son. First month off the pill to start again for my daughter we caught first time.

Keep going 👍

Keep at it and you will get there. Took us nearly 2 years of trying, catching the right time of the month, legs in the air for five minutes afterwards and all that malarkey. All worth it when she shouts from the toilet the test is positive. 🤞

I once did 7 days in a row trying for a baby sex in the middle of a sweltering July

How can I even start to explain to someone how unfun it is

My advice would be that if you're trying and it's not working and it's what you really want don't be afraid or embarrassed to go ask for some help, me and my wife did, nothing serious just ended up with some sachets of various minerals and vitamins and stuff that got things facing the right direction and now that's worked twice

There was a period in the 90s when we thought wouldn't it be fun to give my daughter a sibling. For that month I had more sex than I have ever had since or before. Thankfully we both came to our senses and stopped. Possibly the last time I had sex.

As my grandfather said to my Aunt after she got upset one night at a family get together and walked out of the pub crying - "All you can do is keep trying, and sure in any case it's a great pastime".

Similar for us, after plenty of trying we spoke to the GP and she referred us to a specialist at Good Hope. They gave my wife these injections in her arse cheek that would stimulate her ovaries to produce more than 1 egg per month.

It did the trick.

As I said, to our complete shock we caught first month of trying with my daughter. 🤷‍♂️

My girl's mum decided that today was the best day to invite her family up for a picnic, but I could tag along if I wanted to see my daughter in our first father's day. Apparently I'm the unreasonable one.

You know what to do next Mother’s Day 😉

(that’s right, be the bigger one and let her have the day)

that sucks by the way and I hope you get some time with your daughter.

For this mother's day, we we still in hospital, so I took her out for breakfast, arranged for her mate to gate crash towards the end to have a coffee, then rushed into the ward to get Caitlin into her special mother's day outfit and put some decorations up so they could get some nice photos together with the hospital stuff hidden, and got her a big canvas of some of the nicest photos of them together from the previous 3 months. I know why I bothered, for the kid, but nice to have it repaid. Ah well, just a day.

That’s really shit mate. Mom needs to give her head a wobble
