gwi1890
From a team consisting of Henri Lansbury, Connor Hourihane and Wesley to a team with the likes of Coutinho , Leon Bailey, and Danny Ings only to be in the same relegation battle. NoelVilla
Maybe we should sign Almiron and Joelinton. That might solve our problems

Vancvillan
At this point there isn't a single positive metric to pull for SG. We're drowning in objectively terrible stats. Hard to argue that were not a relegation contender without a change.

I wonder did he see on social media after the fake news he was sacked, that 99% of the fanbase want him gone. No way back from that IMO, barring a 10 game winning run. useless
If Fulham win by four goals we will drop into the bottom three, so hopefully we can at least avoid that.
DJBOB
I can't see a way we're not 19th by WC and after the new year. Even if we do get a new manager - our end of year run is unenviable. Brentford Newcastle United Brighton WC Liverpool Tottenham Where are the points going to come from? Even if we miraculously get 3 points in that mix, that'll be 12 points from 18. We will be relegated if they keep Gerrard after the WC. January is an enormous month for Villa to stay up. rbcuk
One of the easiest starts to a season and look at the mess we are in down to the incompetence of the board and purslow not sacking this fraud a lot earlier in the season

Lichfield Dean Posted October 20, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted October 20, 2022 The damage is done already isn't it? It's going to be a tough slog to avoid relegation from this position now.
calcifer
Yep, think we are going back down this season, we look awful! Gonna be an absolute huge job for the new guy! Left it too long with Slippy, have a tough run of fixtures ahead, can't score. We look the worst team in the league!
danceoftheshamen
We are going down. This team is appalling and Gerrard should have been sacked before this was allowed to get engrained. Instead Purslow sat on his hands and now we have a team bereft of any confidence at all with fewer & fewer games left for a new manager to save the season. We are from what I have seen the worst team in the division by a country mile. We have the odd flash or half game when we are competitive but it happens like once every 3 games. and even then is rarely enough to get 3 points unless it's against a team having a serious off day.
Amed
We are going down - unfortunately the rot has set in, and has been going on for 2 years now. Bad expensive signings, bad managers, bad injuries…. This is 2015/16 all over again….
sne
It's going to be a massive job for whoever comes in to turn this around a repair the damage Gerrard and Purslow has done. We are in really big danger of going down.
ChesterDad
I really do believe we are much better than our current position suggests and that’s on you know who - genuinely believe the right manager can easily get another 50% out of our lot
