Really enjoyed that.  It was on a knife edge the whole way though, I felt they were fitter and better organised and operated with a level of shithousery I can't help but respect.  We showed good quality which is cause for optimism considering how deep into the squad we had to go.   Fixtures get a lot tougher now, but hopefully we don't half half the squad unavailable for various reasons once the international break is over.

AEG answered some critics. Ref appalling.

Fans have speculated for many a year, but I think today finally confirms that the referee is indeed a rocket polisher. Swung on a pinhead between letting a clattering go, and handing out bookings for nothing, it was like he rolled dice for each decision.

I said when I saw the lineup I'd take a point, so not too disappointed, it was a very weak team, and Brentford gave us a lot of problems with their physicality and the intensity of their press.

Chuk did alright for his first PL start. Nothing to write home about, but he didn't look out of place at 17 which is great to see. Also good to see a cracking strike from Buendia, and Watkins back in the side.

Fingers crossed Konsa is back by the end of the international break, he didn't look happy.

We had a 17 year old and a 36 year old full back in midfield. Injuries have decimated us. Happy with a point. We chug along. Can't wait til we're back to full strength. El Ghazi MOTM by a mile.
