Match Thread: Villa v Fulham

That really was a tragic 1st half from Villa. A combination of players on the 🏖 and not being good enough.

Place Watkins out wide with Davis in the middle. Parker won’t be expecting that and at least it would be something different going forward.

McGinn isn’t a number 10 and Sanson is yet another Villa midfielder who is hard to pin a description on other than being totally crap. Luiz is also awful so I’d replace them with Marvelous and anyone.

Smith needs to rip them to pieces for that 1st half performance.

I know people don't think we are a one man team but come on without jack we are on relegation form! We have a pretty solid defence, but would struggle to score in a brothel!

This poor form started when he was still in the team

I think otherwise we've been okay - not good, but not bad either.

One team will get a bounce of the ball and take it - hopefully that's us.

Not exactly a massive vote of confidence given that we are playing against a team that should be relegated this season.  We need some inspiring summer signings because relegation next season after the excitement of the start of this season would be a gigantic kick in the testicles.

Have we had a shot on target yet?

No. 1 in our last game, 0 so far today.

Grealish or not, refereeing decisions be damned, our performances are completely unacceptable.

El G and Traore are basically stealing a living , Keinan might at least give Fulham something to think about and give Ollie some support

but smith will probably opt for Trez for El G around 60 mins

I don't think any of them will do a damn F'in thing cus they are all shite who you've mentioned apart from Ollie.

I actually feel sorry for Watkins, he comes here and can't get the right damn support from his frontline team and players in middle of the park..

I am not arguing with your point.....but sick of listening to Jack, being the excuse for just about everything....this should not be a one front 6

I think the point is that he really is our only attacking outlet. We are nothing without him and that’s really clear now. Thus we need to basically overhaul everything forward of the defensive line.

The 3 wingers we have are nondescript.

That's hypothetical and basically irrelevant.

OK, where would the goals come from? We lack creativity 100% teams know how to play against us without Jack, we finally sorted our defence but going forward we are so limp, Jack is the viagra!

Bielsa can get championship players to play the way they do Smith needs to do the same.

Not just a few, we need at least 10 if we have any hope of being mid table again next season

Watkins is a good forward but we aren't playing to his strengths. He needs the ball played into feet, not this constant pushing out wide followed by a crap cross. The midfield is absolutely woeful again. Not one of them is capable of a bit of imagination. Cash our best player of the first half

Calling it now.

This team would not stay up without Grealish. Not a chance.

Or Martinez, have you seen the stats. Saved 100+ shots up there with all the crap, Sheffield,  Burnley, Newcastle, West Brom.

I think it's pretty clear that if we're to process we're going to need better players out wide next season.

Whilst I am grateful for what the owners have done. adding more £15m players won't progress us. bonkers as it sounds £15m gets you a fringe player....if that.

It's even worse when Fulham haven't won us for there last 17 games and now we can't bloody beat them and score against them.

Watkins gets there first, the contact by Lemina on the ball is completely incidental; Watkins kicks it onto his foot, whilst being absolutely clattered.

Another joke of a decision by the clowns at Stockley Park.

Strictly speaking, the decision was made by the ref on the pitch having reviewed the incident on the screen. Stockley Park just recommended he reviewed it.
