There's a lot of senior strikers wouldn't have scored that goal. I can see a clamour to have Barry on the bench sooner rather than later, given how light we are up top, and after tonight it's that bit harder to disagree.

As for the actual performances there were some great performances from all but Rowe in that 1st half was particularly good.

Calm, assured, pacy and up against one of the best players in the world and kept him quiet. Then he made that pass for the goal ....outstanding half!

one of them is our current first team back up!!

definitely earnt his place around the first team set up, hopefully he kicks on from here

Outside of the fullbacks and goalkeeper, that had to be their strongest XI when subs factored in. Even those on the bench would get into most PL sides.

I'm not sure Watkins has the composure to score that goal tbh. Davis would have no **** chance.

Obviously scoring a single goal in the biggest game of your career so far doesn't mean you can do it regularly, but I can't wait to see more of him.

But honestly, his bravery seriously impressed me - in such a short period!

He looks like he has got the mentality to go all the way!

Barry has shown he has pace and can finish. 2 attributes Davis doesn’t have. I’d much rather have him as an option.

Davis would never have shown that composure in a millions years I'm afraid.

Can certainly see him making a sub cameo or two for us in last 5 games if we have little to play for. Then season long loan to league 1 or championship is smart move next season. They'll likely be plenty of takers this month.

After those 3 quick goals was praying it didn’t turn into 5 , 6, 7 or more 

4-1 is a fantastic effort from all concerned imagine had we be able to play the “more promising “ kids as well

Sometimes the players were guilty of the wrong decision bringing the ball out or trying to beat one player too many , but who cares .... these players can walk tall tonight ..

i genuinely expected double figures tonight , to hold it to 4 and score is some achievement for  everyone concerned 

klopp seemed keen to speak to Barry at full time on the pitch , hope Barry told him your side isn’t good enough for me to want to join

The sooner we get him training/playing with Jack the better. He made some really good runs tonight, for the goal especially and he has a lot of pace. He could be a real quality player for us if he has the right mentality.

The biggest compliment I can think of to give those players tonight is that if a team of;

Heaton, Elmohamady, Engels, Hause, Taylor, Hourihane, Nakamba, Ramsay, El Ghazi, Traore, Davis

had lost 4-1 to that Liverpool team we wouldn't have been surprised or upset at the performance/result.

Full credit to those kids (literally) and staff for a) their performance and b) their attitude - they've had a whirlwind couple of days and have been thrust into an impossible situation and come out of it with nothing but respect and credit, and have done our club and themselves proud.
