My understanding is that a price of £80 mill was what Villa wanted for Jack at one time.....but maybe that wasn't true, is that what you are saying?

I think 80 mill was the price before Grealish entered the england squad, I think the Owners would say more now just to put clubs off.

Let's face it why even let a player go for that much when its peanuts to the Owners, the worth isnt in the money, it's in fact in what Grealish will do at Villa.

There are so many reasons as to why Jack would stay at Villa and I can only think of one to take him away from the club, even with that one reason Grealish may see a chance to find Europe footy at Villa before his career is done.

Why is this even being discussed anyway after Jack put pen to paper for another five years, are people never satisfied that he wants to remain at Villa TRO?? You wouldnt sign a contract for five years if you were planning on leaving now would you mate??

Costa is a great player, but the PL in 2020 would eat him alive.

Depends, he could change and be better if he moved to a club that suited him. In between a group of players who were doing well, I'd say hed have enough to be a decent player still.

Ross Barkley would be an amazing signing. Please get it done.

Ghazi again with misses in front of goal on a broken record, no thankyou.

It's the 90% pass completion in final 3rd and chance created every 46 mins last season as bit part player I'd be interested in

Something to me spells disaster with Barkley and yes I know it's a loan and we can send back but surely we can get someone better from one of these top clubs.

I spose if we cant find better then we may as well take the loan, what we have to lose.

You never know that if we keep taking these players off of Chelsea and they keep playing Shi*e, eventually we will build so much credit with them through them Owing us, that they will have no choice but to sell us Tammy 🤣

There wasn’t a price tag, that’s the point.

Possibly not.

Jack Grealish fears £80m price tag will put off Manchester United

There was a tonne of press reports in the summer running with these headlines, which was why it was assumed there was a price tag to Grealish.

I think we have that. Luiz is more the quarterback and McGinn is the box to box but both can cover most roles adequately in double pivot structure which still has 4 permanent attackers.

AM

RW CF LW

We aren’t really disagreeing here in McGinn, he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder in the system I mentioned. He can play all three central roles but two points here, 1, he isn’t a specialist for it and 2, when he gets injured, needs a rest or loses form and all players go through that our next option for that role is Nakamba, fine as a sole defensive midfielder who’s only job is to screen but no where near good enough to play in the system I mentioned.

As a side note you mentioned him as a box to box player, he is currently but in the system I mentioned that doesn’t happen with the 2 defensive midfielders they leave it to the other 4 or 6 players

Jack is really dominating from a lw free role, so the obsession some have about moving him into the middle is just weird to me.

He is gone from being a good championship player to CL class and England international in that role. Just maybe we should keep him there.

I also understand that some people want him in a free role centrally as a CAM or something, but I think the idea of us doing well in midfield with 2 instead of 3 is naive at best. I just don't think it would work. Doesn't most PL sides also field a 3 man central midfield? Wouldn't a 4231 get overrun far more than a 4321/41221?

Edit. Probably the wrong thread for this, so maybe one of the mods or allmighty @limpid can just move this post into the JG thread.

All those formations are variations of the same system 443 with Jack in a free role you need 2 defensive midfielders hence my comments in the last couple of pages
