If we stay up, what's our budget?

I haven’t worked that out yet, still working on the figures!

How do you honestly expect any of us to know that?

Wonder what the ramifications of spending 1 billion would be, total loss of all points we obtain next season.

Nope we just following the citeh model, I'd be surprised if we didn't spend more to be honest, Kane debruyne Chilwell madison would walk it to villa park, get them in and then the big names will follow, cant wait

Depending on your assumptions, we could get away with three signings or need twice that. I think it depends on three factors:

  1. If Jack goes. I'll be shocked if he stays but, if he does, he doesn't need replacing.

  2. Tom Heaton. If he'll be back after four matches, that's alright. I'm not comfortable with relying on Nyland or Steer for the whole season though. Would Reina come for another year?

  3. Can we buy a quality centre-forward (e.g. Tammy) for less than 40 million. If we can, that's a priority IMHO. If it's crazy money, we might have to spend it on the other positions like central mid.

So definite positions (IMHO): centre-back, central midfield, winger. Starting line up of e.g. Heaton, Targett, Ake, Mings, Guilbert, Grealish, Luiz, McGinn, Ndombele, Benrahma, Wesley. (Just picking Ake, Ndombele and Benrahma as examples. Pick your own if you like.)

If Jack leaves: those three, plus a replacement (4). Say Buendia or whoever.

If a Tammy Abraham is available: those four, plus the new forward (5)

If a goalkeeper is needed: those five, plus Reina (6). Starting line up of e.g. Reina, Targett, Ake, Mings, Guilbert, Buendia, Luiz, McGinn, Ndombele, Benrahma, Tammy.

There's a big difference between three and six signatures, and that's before we talk about adding depth in left-back etc.

Been linked to John Swift. Valued at 3 million. Absolutely no downside to it for me. We'll need to bulk up the squad next season with the 5 sub rule staying put. Really good player actually. Best player in a poor team. Sheffield United after him too. Their midfield is so stacked though, Wilder rarely changes it. He'd get a game for us, if he's good enough.

It's interesting how many people want us to go in for Deeney.  I've read quite a few opinions from Watford fans recently that he's nowhere near good enough any more but they have to rely on him as one of the few who seems to give a shit.

I'd rather stick with Davis than get Deeney at this point. Very questionable attitude, and don't think he is good enough especially at 32.

Deeney's scored nine goals in twenty-six appearances this season, when you look at his goals to minutes ratio it's even more impressive. As has been said though he's a small heath fan and even has their badge tattooed on his leg.

Silky player, kind of reminds me of Darren Anderton a bit even though Swift is more central.

I think we'll spend big again to be honest. We'll have something along the lines of 100m+ to spend from Premier League (if we stay up). I think the owners are ambitious and I can't see them not spending everything they can to push on.

The article linking us with Swift said that we were only interested if we were relegated, the way it was written was highly speculative and just seemed like guesswork to me. From the little I've seen and highlights he seems like a good player though.

If we do stay up, and keep the same side we have now, then we would still need at least four players as far as I can see:

Right back, right wing, left wing, striker.

And that’s a bare minimum in my eyes. Could do with a couple more, like a new left back, back up keeper when Reina goes, and another DM...  and more if people leave too.

I think we good enough Squad for add player to strength yet need player to replace or buy more player to strength bench as 5 subs allowed so big club is more likely to win the games easy compare to small squad like us.

Let look at squad.

Goalkeeper Depth

  • Heaton (No.1)
  • Steer (No.2)
  • Nyland (No.3) - Possible Sold replace Youth Goalkeepers (would be nice if it is Sarkic) we should give him chance rather Reina encourage to stay.
  • Youth Player

It is very good Depth in this so no need buy maybe try need find replacement No.2 Steer to Strength and challenger Steer and Heaton.

Centre-Halves Depth

  • Mings (possibility to move to new club if down or big money move so Need replacement him)
  • Hause
  • Konsa
  • Engels
  • Free transfer Veteran Centre Half - to help out and sit Bench to give experience to able strong back line.
  • Youth Player (2x)

Partner Mings + Engels / Konsa + Hause ((or)) Mings + Konsa / Hause it is good rotation and cover, back up, good challenge place. It is very good depth to play premiership and they are very high rate defender ...

Full Back Depth
(Right) - we got 2 different type specialist which I like see.

  • Guilbert (Overlap Specialist)
  • Elmo (Deep Cross Specialist) - Would rid him if someone better that Guilbert and Elmo, so Elmo one to need to go to free up position as Gulibert is young.
  • Konsa (3rd)
  • Youth Players

(Left)

  • Targett (Deep Cross + Overlap Specialist Hybird)
  • Taylor (I would try sell him and replace better maybe Henry - I more happy to keep him at villa as he good defender but not quality go forward Cross or Overlap)
  • Hause (3rd)
  • Youth Players

Full back Depth is very good so we no need strength this area (beside try replace Taylor)

Centre Midfield

  • Grealish (Likely to Sold Regard down or up)
  • Luiz (if we down we need replacement him as Man City might come buy him off or he stay down)
  • Mcginn (if we down we need replacement him as he likely bought off)
  • Houriance (personally not sure about him but he actually decent footballer would give him one more year)
  • Marvellous (Personally would rid him to replace better player but he can be good player if give a time - Best option I think is replacement him)
  • Need New Player box to box with Creative Player
  • Ramsey (or Need New Player Box to Box with Creative Player) - personally prefer to give Ramsey Chance
  • C..................... can’t spelling his name (will edit later)

Trio midfield Luiz + Mginn + New Player and Houriance + Marvellous + Ramsey

we actually not need strength this area but maybe buy 1 or 2 cm

Winger
Left

  • Grealish (likely to sold regard stay up or down)
  • El-Ghazi (would rid him)
  • Hussain (would rid him)
  • Barry can play there

if I pick one of them to save money so I would choice Hassain as he is key reason is he track back and work hard to help defend, even El-Ghazi often give full back problem as no support but he is good football that Hassain but football is important is team-work and Team player.

Still good cover this area despite poor players would love see upgrade this area. If we down they are more good enough to get us up again.

Right

  • Jota (not good enough might move him to centre midfield as Creative box to box? Or selling him - Be fair he is actually good winger but lack track back and slow that why he struggle)
  • Need New Players
  • Youth

Would love see get Pelayo Morilla Sportin Gojins (I usually buy him in football manager and I watch YouTube he seem likely good player with good left foot) fit Pulsow Requirement youth future star would love see him at right winger and Barry at left winger and new forward... or Lolley (Notts Forest) or Eliasson (Bristol City)

Left foot are mainly reason we lack threat we need look at market this urgently that reason I was begged and pray to get Bowen, in end he move West Ham. We should try ask Snodgrass if they got Bowen.

Forward

  • Wesley - Would give him a chance I think he ideal for Creative Attack midfield rather Forward.
  • Samatta - don’t sure if he should keep him might use him as exchanging or sent loan Championship if we stay up to tone his skill and learn English games
  • Davis - Keep him for last one more year
  • New Player as first choice
  • Barry

it is full cover but I still think need find star world class striker move us but problem actually is creative winger don’t helpfully if we lack of creative winger after Grealish.

so all overrall we need GK 1x and RW 2x, LW 2x, LB 1x, RB 1x, FWD 1x, CM 2x  That is lots of money to need spent to rebuild and add Quaintly Number to help Squad to challenge top 10 and stay up premiership for next season. Hope Suso left and Smith more tell on transfer and hire better DOF to help Smith.

Considering we are most likely selling Grealish - if we stay in the prem we have no option but to spend big. Anything else would be committing PL suicide.

We can also sell a few though (if anyone wants em) -Heaton, Mings, Luiz aside anyone we purchased last summer can go if a suitable bid comes in.

I disagree. I'd keep as much of the squad together as I could and then buy 4 or 5 quality players to go straight into the first 11. The only players I'd look to sell are Davis, Lansbury and Hause. But that's just me.
