'reportedly offered to' - second hand information and when has a club ever brought in a player they were 'offered'. It's not how it works. 'given the fact that Smith wants a midfielder, a move this month could potentially suit both parties.' - I could write this with as much authority. 'might be an interesting left field swoop this month' - again, just random guessing. I know it's the transfer thread and about speculation, but there's a speculation source blacklist (for new player threads) because of the crap that's out there. Personally I'd prefer transfer speculation to have some foundation from reasonable sources or at least be an obvious personal preference.
