Should have been loaned out if we don't trust him to play more than 5 minutes at a time.

In all seriousness he will more than likely get more game time when things settle on the pitch.

According to other thread like the Sanson or Guilbert ones, the fact that he didn't secure a loan move away means he's happy to sit on the bench and not play. Except he's not even sitting on the bench. Maybe it's not the players' fault they're in this?

There was a lot of noise made be the manager about Cameron in particular regarding him having an important role this season. He has played 18 minutes all season, and that includes a cup game against League One Bolton.

This is the bit that makes me cross. That cup game was ideal for him to play. To be honest he should have started but at the very least played the whole second half. If we’re not utilising him for games like that, what’s the point?

Arsenal trying hard to convince Nwaneri to stay with them, the rest of the top six are chasing him and he's not scholarship age yet so if they do lose him it will be for a very low fee, them putting him on the bench today was them trying to convince him to stay, and of course when they went 3-0 up that gave them the perfect opportunity to bring him on, also them giving him his debut also means that they will receive more money if he does leave which has been strongly rumoured, so I think a bit more going on with Nwaneri than just Arsenal giving an opportunity to a promising player.

It was strange that we had 4 CMs in the bench, after having none at City. Yet Archer can’t take one of those spots? I realise the irony of wanting Sanson on the bench then being miffed that Archer doesn’t take what would likely be his spot (or Naka’s) but it’s just another head scratcher.

we seem to be falling into the trap of not being good enough on the pitch, not trusting the substitute players to offer something different and becoming more agricultural with the same set of players on the pitch. It’s so frustrating looking like we’ve added quality to a decent squad and then essentially be told the players are now not good enough to be comfortably mid table and we need to sign another 4-5 players.

It so glaringly obvious that we’re set up badly and reverting to ‘less pretty stuff’ is damage limitation, not progress.

I realise this will sway away from Archer so bringing it back to him, he seems to be a victim of us having to tighten up and keep it simple with experience blah blah blah just because the coaching is so ineffective

It's really sad becaus we're wasting one of the most talented squads I can remember. That we won't get to see exciting youngsters like Archer develop because the manager is desperately trying to claw himself into his job is infuriating. He's better off on loan right now. At least that way he gets experience, and isn't resentful about our club.

Gerrard needed a win because fans were ready to turn on him.

So an incredible prospect wastes six month of crucial development.

Archer situation has been winding me up all season. You have to give these players a chance more so when our strikers have been utter tripe so far. The guy can score goals and deserves a shot. We've seen what he can do! 18 mins is an insult.

Nah look, Manager is under pressure he needs wins and he has no opportunity to give Cam time on the pitch. At least he's training with players as good as we've got. He can go out on Loan in Jan and get 24 games in the Championship.

go in the KKH thread and that loan is seen as a shambles, go in this one and him not going out on loan is seen as a shambles...he'll be alright, plenty of time left in the season for him to kick a ball somewhere, U21 tournament isnt until next summer either

the disappointing thing is we look so clueless upfront but still wont give him a chance, should have started vs bolton, papa johns starts tomorrow, hopefully we at least let him play in that and he smashes it

Our defence and midfields complete inability to keep the ball for two or three progressive passes means we need to resort to pumping the ball up front in the hope that our centre forward can make it stick. Only Ollie can get remotely close to making that work. It’s just not in Archer or Ings game. Until our players stop giving the ball away needlessly, Archer will have to wait to get his chance.
