Sad to read on the Beeb that we'll be swapping him for ESR in January. :crylaugh:

Only way this deal goes through is if they mean Elneny, Saka and Rice......

No chance they broke up. She had a calendar to sell.

It's a ridiculous monthly story that keeps coming back like an stubborn case of jock itch.

One of my very few good calls was when I 4 years ago said that this player will be something extra, even oushing Grealish for being the best Villa player. Ok, he was poor against manure and not at hus best against sheffield united and burnley, but still got 1+1 in those 3 games. He's so good at keeping the ball and spot a good pass and not too bad at breaking up play. He's not perfect at taking direct freekicks but his delivery is really good. He's a great player, that's it. We can't sign an equally good player just like that. It took him about 2-3 years to become the player he is now. Maybe longer. It's likely that it would take the same for his replacement. So let's find and sign that player now and wait before we sell Dougie. We need him. Probably more than we need £100m.

I think Doug's free kick to Pau's header against Spuds is my favourite goal of the season so far.  We were getting outplayed and a perfect time to score the equaliser, then dominated the rest of the game away to a rival.  Duran's against Palace second.

I can imagine the conversation now. Anything to help with your title bid Mr Arteta, you are always so gracious about our club in your post match interviews. ESR you say, would you like cash with that too?

In reality: You're really having a tin bath Gooner breath. Why would he want to join you lot of chockers? Mind the Gap in the league table and in our valuation of Douglas matey! ESR you say, throw in Rice with that and it's still a very big No!

Made a big difference when he came on. Without him, Torres and Tielemans on the pitch, we don't have the necessary vision of quickness of thinking to break down teams who sit deep.

Surprised no one else commented

Head went today, looked a very frustrated figure, Evertons plan of lots of contact overly physical slyly kicking him and no free kick being given paired with going down when he brushed one of them done him

He's the player we should be looking at to rise above it and take games out of the mud, he didn't today, didn't come close either

They had a deliberate game plan to target certain players. Dougie definitely one of them. Unai’s job will be to coach him to learn to handle this and exploit this. Ultimately it’s a compliment to his abilities, but need to avoid it becoming a regular theme.
