Dean Smith

I don’t think sacking him is a choice now. We will not have anyone instead of him. The whole football world will stop. We don’t need to waste any money. Keep it wisely and then plan once we can.

We’re not sure wether this season will be completed or not. Then we don’t know about next season.

For the time being keep everything as it is.

Thanks for the memories Dean. Time to move on with a new direction at the club. Suso must leave as well. The league is suspended and will not play again for months in my opinion. The new man will have ample time with the players to move things forward. Sad to say that Corona virus might just save our club. The board must act now.

VLD.

Spot on.

To be fair it's not as though we're at the bottom of the table and cut adrit needing a miracle to stay up, we're two points from safety with a game in hand and ten games still left to play, six of those at Villa Park, it's not as if the only thing that could have possibly saved us from relegation is the season being ended by a dreaded virus.

Now is the perfect time to sack Dean. Maybe this can be the one good thing to come out of a pretty dire situation.
A new manager would actually have a few weeks to work with players before having to play a match.  Worst case he has a prolonged period of time to assess the squad before entering the transfer market.

If he doesn’t get sacked now then we can only assume that there is no appetite to sack him at all.

You do realize there may be no games until the summer?

I'd be surprised if the season continues after a few weeks.

I don't think it's appropriate sacking managers during a tragic time like this.

I agree. A comet could've hit the Earth, aliens could've taken over the planet.

Most bizarre statement ever from you which is quite some accolade!

I'd be pretty disgusted with anyone in any profession getting sacked right now, barring obvious gross misconduct.  There was virtually no chance of Dean leaving anyway.

Why? He's a PL manager and releasing him means the owners will have to pay the rest of his contract too. He's not gonna be struggling in finances if he were sacked. If the board decide that he isn't up to the task, then they should be able to choose to sack him.

They say the best managers are lucky managers - if the season is voided then DS could just go down in history as Villa's luckiest manager.

Imagine the uproar from Liverpool supporters. I hope it's voided just so I can get a buzz out of them being denied the title.

I was going to say that. We could even go to Europe somehow, we’ll potentially be the only recognized team in 2019-2020 that achieved something (runner ups), while Man City aren’t allowed to play in Europe. I think we’ll the right to even push for it if the league was voided.

If that happened then suddenly DS promoted us, stayed in the league, cup final, back to Europe after 10 years.

How can we sack him? 😅

I don't think there is an appetite from the club to sack him......I can only deduce that this sudden drop in our form is partially a behind the scenes issue, that is impacting on performances.

Maybe the club think they can resolve it.

I agree. We have 25 points from 28 games so I think we should keep DS and by the end of the season we should have about 30 points from 38 games.

I admire your optimism. However our current form ( last 6 matches ) leave s us bottom of the league. Our performances are just awful at the moment with even a genius like Jack unable to lift us. We are going down unless we change direction. Now is the perfect time to make the change. Dean is a likeable chap but is clearly out of his depth in the premier league. Unfortunately points aren't awarded for being ' a nice bloke'.

Why isn't Smith holding a meeting with terry and giving him the bullet and bringing in Mark Lawrenson as defensive coach?

Has Deano got any bollox? That goals against column is not improving any time soon untill those defenders hear a difference voice or get some different instructions.

Someone has got to carry the can for the wretched performances. It's nauseating how they refer to him as Jay Tee, he's always posting photos of himself on insta on holiday or from ten years ago in his chelsea shirt, he brings nothing to the table. everything he does is PR for himself. made sure the press saw him going for a jog around the stadium before the cup final. Then during the game the free headers, and migets marking giants calamity reigned  in.

If I was Smith taking all the flack from the fans, knowing I was going to get the sack soon I would so  bin terry to buy myself some more time hire Mark Lawrenson who's the most famous specialised coach out there .

Id probaly bin Richard O'Kelly too that wrinkly old baggie does nothing. Get Collymore in he's always offering to help.

They'll both be out in the summer unless someone coughs first.
