rbcuk
So much improved under Unai long may it continue, as couldn’t stand him playing in the form he was in when gerrard was here

sne
His confidence on the ball now is fantastic. Yeah he misplaced a pass badly but on the whole he carries it well and gets himself out of tight situations and drives forward. Happily have this version of McGinn as a starter next to Luiz and Kamara in midfield next season too.
tinker Posted April 1, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted April 1, 2023 Love the dummy he's doing, gives him a yard and he ain't depending on his bum roll. Emery mentioned encouraging him to try new tricks and I reckon this is one of them. Can't think of a better midfield performance from us than today and he was the star of the show. avfc1982am
His turnaround in form has been excellent. Looks to have lost a load of weight since Unai came in and is all the better for it. Well done captain iron brew

Delphinho123
He was absolutely outstanding today. I think he’s been MOTM at least 5 times in the last couple of months. He’s been immense.
Jareth
Was in the bath earlier and thinking of SJM, my hand reached for..... no obvs it wasn't sexual (it might be now) - but I just knew he was going to do that today. It was a vision.
M_Afro
It makes me so happy to see SJM back on top form. The man lives and breathes our club and he’s also a thoroughly decent human being. Works his socks off every day and always carries himself impeccably. I love SJM. A true captain.
Popular Post SJM Posted April 1, 2023 Visiting Supporter Popular Post Share Posted April 1, 2023 So glad to see he's come good. Really good illustration of how a manager can be the problem and not the player, especially when their positive attitude is so plain to see. genuinely my favourite Hibs player of all time, and always buzzing for Villa when they do well as a result of his presence. Most Hibs and St Mirren fans will feel the same way.

Most Hibs and St Mirren fans will feel the same way. Yip, I am Saints fan of 45 years. When SJM played for us, not seen an attitude like that for many a year. Without doubt, in my favourite 3 players of all time. McAvennie, Ian Ferguson and SJM. When he went to Hibs, desperate for him to do well (other than games against us obviously) When he went to Villa, have hardly missed a game. Villa then got under my skin and quickly became my English team. I think they are a perfect marriage. He really could become a club legend, particularly if Emery stays at the club for 2-3 years at least. Outstanding manager and obviously has had massive effect on John. 8

I got a bit fed up with our fans having a go at him to be honest. Some of it was warranted but this bloke has done as much as anyone to get us back to where we are now. He’s a proper decent lad who cares about our club, like you said he’s a true captain.
