macandally
Good Managers buy players to fit a system or style of play, as we don't have either of those, Bruce just buys players. This season is a right off already, what's the point in having the best players in the league if you cannot make the best team.

He has been bought to play the number 10 role that Grealish was earmarked for. ......to play in the same 4 2 3 1 formation we have used for a year (Bar the Bristol fiasco). I coached and played a 4-2-3-1 for two years with my team, Bruce has not played a 4-2-3-1. It's a bastardised 4-4-1-1/4-5-1 at best. Jedinak doesn't drop in between the centre backs to release the full backs, nor does Whelan. The wingers are not cutting in on to their natural feet and the strikers aren't creating opposites and angles with their runs to open that space up. That is coaching a 4-2-3-1 and no sign of that at all. i would love us to play a 4-2-3-1 as it would suit the players we have had for 18 months but is not the case.

We definitely did play 4231 against Norwich and Wigan. No offence but your 2 years of playing and coaching it don't compare to Bruce's. As for Snodgrass I'm sure we'll see him the 10 role

No offence taken, but it's in the set up and movement, not a 4-2-3-1
Junxs
Looking forward to him making his debut tomorrow, no doubt he'll be rusty as he hasn't played yet this season, not even for Scotland.
gilbertoAVFC
Genuinely think this could be the best signing we've made in ages. Certainly in terms of value. Always really liked him and at this level he is very strong. Excited to see how Bruce manages to ruin him 1
Jareth
He's the sort of player you always remember playing against you, always involved.
sne
Unlike Max Power, he has the name you really wouldn't love to touch.
sidcow Posted September 8, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted September 8, 2017 Terrible name. Terrible terrible name. (apologies to any Snodgrasses on here)
mikeyp102
Looked so unfit, think he lost the ball every time he had it. Hourihane was having an off day, but I still don't understand why Snodgrass replaced him on set pieces. Not a good debut.
HanoiVillan
He was absolutely abysmal, didn't do a single thing right. I'm devastated that we signed him. We didn't need him, I don't want him, he offers another 'option' that just prevents building a settled side who understand each other. Pointless pointless pointless. 2

jackbauer24
Has trained once with the squad. Comes on in a game we're struggling to even hold possession in. Hasn't played yet this season. I am absolutely shocked he made zero impact...! No point judging him after one game.

Czechlad
Needs to get fit before he features again. He looked dead after 5 minutes.
Demitri_C
He did create a very good chance. But his first touch was awful. Wasnt overly impressed to be honest. But was a tough game to come into. Doesnt look match fit yet
NoelVilla
Only Villa will buy an unfit player to replace players we already have in the same position.

It really shouldn't have been that tough, it was a home league game against a side who haven't won a league game so far this season.
