So two managers sacked today after 9-0 defeats after only a few games in charge.

Our next two games have the potential of ending like that

Funnily enough, Hasenhüttl has copped two 9-0 defeats whilst in charge of Southampton and his side beat Chelsea today 🤷‍♂️

Pulis to Bournemouth?

Lives five minutes away and Kieffer Moore upfront is his wet dream of a forward. Seems to be perception that Bournemouth are a tippy tappy team but all of Billing, Lerma and Ben Pearson like to mix it in central midfield, think he managed Tavarenier at Boro aswell.

Starting to think there's an argument that TOP ex footballers, make better Directors of Football / Sporting Directors, Youth coaches, Ambassadors and Liaisons etc than Managers at the highest level.

Not trying to diss anyone at all, but alot of the best Footballers aren't the most analytical and intelligent, and the days of " Roll wor sleeves " up being enough, are long gone at the highest level.

In contrast, " Students " of the game have spent their whole lives watching, analysing, and learning as opposed to being " In the Field ".

Obviously there are exceptions to this but i'm thinking the majority.

If Ex players come through, they probably need to scale the pyramid from the bottom up to get a full education all over again, similarly as you would as being a player. Instead of just being " gifted " a leg up, as that's when it comes crumbling.

There is definitely a place in Football Club hierarchy for them though.

Almost like you can’t extrapolate one result to the another. Who’d have thunk it.

It really depends on the player I think, part of the problem is that when your career finishes you probably feel like you are up to date with the tactics, coaching etc, but by the time you've got your badges and found yourself a job, the game has moved on again. You really need to right up to date all the time, constantly evolving, and that doesn't suite every personality, especially anyone with an ego who already feels like they know everything. If you look at say Ancelotti, great player in his own right, but as a manager it's been a constant evolution and recognition of his own flaws and how to cover for them that has led to great success.

Anyone know the last time a manager moved clubs midseason in the premier league from one to another?

I thought it was one of those unwritten rules

Interesting question - I reckon the last time it happened was Pardew's move from Newcastle to Palace.
