Last season Jedinak's was 66.7%

I love Mile, but they are very different players. We're playing the best football we have under Bruce with Whelan in the team, in my opinion, both in terms of performances and results. We can argue that it is in spite of Whelan, but I don't agree.

Jedinak will have a role to play I'm sure. With Whelan, without Whelan, but never in a 2 man midfield. He's a very specialised player.

I would actually prefer him to Samba in central defence.

Dave.....you have perfected the art of watching significance in a game....bravo.

I really wonder if we can afford a player who is so regularly injured.

Seems everytime he's back there's another lengthy lay off on rve way.

And fit just in time for internationals.

I've said many a time he would be better off quitting International Football.

However you almost can't begrudge someone what is probably their last World Cup.

Which is shite for us at his age.

When he plays he is absolutely immense, just hasn't been able to do it enough for us.

So that will be the full 3 months then.  It would be nice if just once we could have a player get injured and just need to miss a day of training or something.  Every time a player goes down at the moment the recovery is measured in months.

My problem with Jedinak, he is always fit to play for Australia.  Goes there just after a long lay off fit and then comes back and becomes automatically unfit again.

I agree with this, massively annoying. as good as mile is i personally wouldnt give him a new contract. he is far too injury prone. we certainly need another cm in my opinion

Said it when we signed him. We gave him s very long and lucrative contract for someone his age, it should have bee  stipulated that he retire from internationals to allow his body to recover.

To be fair to him, it's a different type of injury.

I saw it when it happened too (as did a lot of people).  He got caught the wrong side of a player, put his arm out and there was a 2 second period where he nearly fell over whilst running, but his arm was twisted around (if you know what I mean) and fully outstretched whilst holding off a player desperately going for the ball.  Eventually they both fell, we got a free kick and he stayed down.  It looked pretty jarring at the time.

I think he'll be back in 6 weeks.

He will then play 2-3 games and be out for another extended period

Isnt he only on a 3 year contract? summer 2019 would be when he would be released. i think he has been value for money despite the injuries

I have never known it to be any different with injured players at Villa for about 10 years now.

Anyone else at a club it's 1-2 weeks, it feels anyone in a Villa shirt it's atleast 3 months a time or longer.

This is now our 2 best players from last season and (pretty much) our best from this year out long term.

The fact we are competing at the top with this is outstanding!

Absolutely.

Terry, Jedinak, Grealish, Kodja..basically what would have been called the spine of our team at the start of the season all out injured and we are currently sitting in promotion places is outstandly remarkable.

If someone had told you in August that it will be Samba, Whelan, Adomah & Davis being the spine of our team but we will be 4th with 9pts from top spot come December then they would have been entered into a lunatic asylum.
