The quality of geminis have gone down hill. I do like using them though. Marley moderns are utter shite. Really weak tiles and you only have to look at them and they break. Thin edge tiles with a mock bond are Russell Lothians. I prefer grampians the best. The last two weeks I've been slating on the Chester road. Some of the houses on the site are worth 1 million.

I literally do not understand anything at all you have said there! Other than some of the houses are expensive obviously

Good stuff mate, nice to chat to a fellow tile geek :)

Was thinking about this again the other day and thinking of a way that we could attract investment/visitors to the ground on a non match day (especially overseas visitors to Birmingham).  What about incorporating a huge casino/bar/restaurant in any new North Stand  and give that casino the naming rights to the stand over say a five year period?  An example being something like the 'Genting' Stand?  It could bring significant investment and visitors on an evening?  Alternatively, what about a really top class restaurant/bar incorporated into any new stand to again attract visitors on an evening? Just some thoughts.

Do you want to learn more about roof tiles ? If so pm me and we can chat away the day.

I think that you and alreadyexists have the subject of roof tiles fully "covered" already. I think we can wipe the slate clean now.

I think if anything, Tony could build his own and use the Lotus name. Good idea though.

The trouble is that the location means its a place that people don't really want to visit for an evening out.

VMF restaurant was a top restaurant at that location and slowly just died a death due to no visitors.

The only way to make it work is to have a big enough entertainment complex with various bars, restaurants, casino, cinema, shops, etc... kind of like Star City size as a minimum, and even then Star City struggled after the initial excitement wore off.

Aston is an absolute **** hole, much like almost all of the inner city of Birmingham. Nobody in their right mind would ever want to spend an evening out there. Especially on a non match day.

No filled-in corners at the Holte End, please.

Definitely not. One of the absolute best features with Villa Park is that we still have 4 stands. Proper football ground. Redeveloping Villa Park into a sterile shit-boring bowl would be a travesty. I am all for developing the ground and the nearby areas and by all means; knock down North Stand but please do not create another Reebook Stadium...

Not sure how much scope there is to develop it with the height restrictions, but I'd have no qualms about the Doug Ellis being bulldozed and a modern, futuristic stand going there. The name could go too.

Corporate considerations should be well down the list of any fans priorities, but a three tiered stand there (even if the overall height is not much bigger than the current one) would mean we could devote the middle tier to the prawn sandwich lot and drive them out of the Trinity. It's galling to see the best seats in the middle of the Trinity continuously empty -even when we have a decent gate.

Your totally missing the point.

Tony said from the outset that he wants to delevop not just Villa Park but the whole area. As I have mentioned earlier on this thread London Docklands was considered a hell hole 20 years ago where no one in their right minds would go at night. Now it's one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in the world.

That's what regeneration and development is all about.  OK he's not going to create a new Canary Wharf in Aston but how about Brindley Place (also a desolate wasteland 20 years ago) or Dudley Waterfront.

True.... but Docklands had central government champions on board such as Helestine who threw large amounts of money completing gentrifying east london. Birmingham barely has any champions in the west midlands given the coventry/wolverhampton/west bromwich etc rivalries. It would be great if redevelopment of VP was tied into regeneration of Aston- but is that really a role of football club to do this?  Have to wait and see on this one- it's certainly interesting.

I'm not missing the point. You can't compare the London Docklands area to Aston. Docklands is waterfront property in one of the world's leading cities. Inner city Birmingham is never going to be a place people want to spend time and no matter how much he pumps in, that will not change.
