ASTON VILLA LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE PRE-PAID MEMBER CARDS Aston Villa Football Club has become the first club in the world to integrate pre-paid contactless and chip and pin payment technology into its season and member cards. The new technology will enable fans to use their Aston Villa season or member cards in the same way as any pre-paid payment card, including contactless payments up to £30, with fans earning Pride Rewards points at a ratio of one point for every pound spent. Fans will be able to use their cards to enter the stadium as well as at all Villa Park payment terminals, including concourses, the ticket office, and the Aston Villa Store. The card will also enable fans to shop, both on the high street and online, with a host of affiliate retailers who will be announced in the near future. Only cash loaded on to the card can be used and transactions will work in exactly the same way as a payment card. Luke Organ, chief commercial officer at Aston Villa Football Club, said: “We are committed to giving fans the best experience possible when dealing with the club, either as season ticket holders or members. “The new contactless, chip and pin technology will ensure that season ticket holders and members can use their card to buy merchandise and refreshments at the ground on match day, or on the high street with our affiliate retail partners – all the time earning Pride Rewards points.” Traditionally, season and member cards have been restricted to stadium access and online members benefits, but by introducing the integrated payment capability, Aston Villa will be able to build a more detailed and personalised understanding of each season ticket holder. Luke continued: “The incorporation of the latest payment technology is a logical extension of season and fan card technological capability, which will allow the club to improve interaction with its fan base, whilst recognising and rewarding loyalty. “Once points have been earned, cardholders will be able to redeem their points against a variety of merchandise and offers in the Pride Rewards area of the Villa app, with rewards on offer including apparel, hotel stays, signed and personalised merchandise and exclusive matchday entertainment.” “We are being very proactive in engaging our corporate partners and other high street retailers to join the programme, which will enable them to leverage the strength and buying power of the significant Aston Villa fanbase.” The technology behind the new integrated payment and stadium access card is being provided by FortressGB, one of the world’s leading providers of loyalty, payment and access solutions to the sports and entertainment industry. http://www.bqlive.co.uk/leisure-tourism-hospitality/2018/01/08/news/aston-villa-launches-innovative-pre-paid-member-cards-29825/
  2. The pitch

Anyone else think the pitch looked awful yesterday? Worst i've seen it look in a long time. Reading on twitter (could well be rubbish) that we have cut costs on ground keeping. Hope this is rubbish, as did we not used to win awards for this? If it gets a lot worse, a shit pitch isn't going to make playing at home easier in this vital 2nd half of the season

  4. Ticket office

The new ticketing system has been a bit of a shambles , should have been live yesterday morning , still not fully functioning. No sign of the Shrewsbury or Walsall tickets on there , i do wonder sometimes if we are moving forward at all?
  5. Fans Consultancy Group Meeting

There's a meeting of the Fans Consultancy Group prior to Tuesday's game with Barnsley and VT have been invited. If there's anything you want to raise about the club, the matchday experience, ticketing, hospitality, merchandise, the club website or anything at all that isn't player performance, please let us know in this thread and we'll raise anything that people want raised at the meeting. Thank you!
  6. Bodymoor Heath

is Bodymoor Heath an Albatross around our necks as opposed to an advantage for us? Now I'm not proposing that we sell and go back to training over the local park, but it seems to me that ever since we have had it, we have struggled. It could be a complete coincidence or some of the very average players we have signed take one look at it and think "Oh I've arrived in the big time"...." I haven't got to graft now" There seems a very soft under belly to all our teams at every level.....I don't see controlled aggresssion or total graft in the sides, I don't see a leaning towards Physical encounter to platform the talent, I see very few players big in stature or powerful, with drive and determination to succeed. are we producing shrinking violets down there or nurturing a philosophy of Que sera sera. I might be miles of course here, but ever since we have this gin palace of a training ground it seems like we have developed a rest home for over inflated ego's of football players.....who never got picked up by the elite.

  10. Villa Park redevelopment

From Randy Lerner's farewell drivel: Jumping the gun? Perhaps filling our current capacity first should be a priority? I for one however would welcome an update to the North Stand, that dour old 70's office block that doesn't even reach the corner flags is in dire need of a facelift.
