  1. From Randy Lerner's farewell drivel: Jumping the gun? Perhaps filling our current capacity first should be a priority? I for one however would welcome an update to the North Stand, that dour old 70's office block that doesn't even reach the corner flags is in dire need of a facelift.
  2. The club has asked us as a site to write to the planning department in support of the planning proposal published here. The mods don't speak on behalf of the members, so this is a simple vote as to whether you support the proposal as it stands, in total. Online Standard Details (birmingham.gov.uk) No discussion, just a vote please.
  3. Does anyone know if the club plan to open it in the Doug Ellis for the upcoming season? I can only find information about it from 2019/20.
  4. New thread for the new season? Merge if not. Anyway big news everyone. my most requested feature for AVTV seems to have finally arrived!? Full match replays for all games. all I signed up. Will let you know how it goes!
  5. Searched forums but can't find an answer and spent 40 mins on hold to Villa Park only to be cut off. I have a stadium tour booked this afternoon. Can I park at the ground? I thought some of you guys might know.
  6. Bit of a surprise with a proposed development and new inner city academy building on the car park off Tame Road. The Application data is here: https://eplanning.birmingham.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/Generic/StdDetails.aspx?PT=Planning Applications On-Line&TYPE=PL/PlanningPK.xml&PARAM0=1107270&XSLT=/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/SiteFiles/Skins/Birmingham/xslt/PL/PLDetails.xslt&FT=Planning Application Details&PUBLIC=Y&DAURI=PLANNING&XMLSIDE=/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/SiteFiles/Skins/Birmingham/Menus/PL.xml And some of the plans are below:
  7. This relates to yesterdays game but I thought I’d put it here because It’s potentially a problem at any game. As a smoker I take advantage of the smoking area in the Holte End at half time, and yesterday I witnessed 3 people jumping over the barrier to gain access to the game. As well as the issue of entering the stadium without tickets, there is also the issue of covid status, as unlike the fans that did have a ticket these 3 gentlemen that jumped the barrier obviously did not have to show a pass. I did report this to a steward who called for back up, but I think this is part of the problem, in an area housing potential hundreds of fans, there were only about 4 stewards making access for the 3 intruders very very easy. As I said above, I too am a smoker and think the smoker area is a very good idea, but based on the events of yesterday, half time security around this area is no way sufficient. I have emailed the club so I hope they introduce better security measures.
  8. I’ve just been looking online at the AVFC Skills and Development Centres for my 5 year old lad. He plays regularly and he played against a few Wolves Development sides last night at their training ground for his club side and got me thinking about ways in at Villa. Has anyone ever taken their kids to any of these training sessions or the half term sessions? The pricing for the development centre is unclear as adding to the basket it’s £42, not sure if that’s per session or for the 6 weeks?
  9. Can't help but feel a little proud about this.
  10. Is it me or is really hard to find somewhere decent to drink near the ground now? Where is your favourite pre match watering hole?
  11. TRO

    Bodymoor Heath

is Bodymoor Heath an Albatross around our necks as opposed to an advantage for us? Now I'm not proposing that we sell and go back to training over the local park, but it seems to me that ever since we have had it, we have struggled. It could be a complete coincidence or some of the very average players we have signed take one look at it and think "Oh I've arrived in the big time"...." I haven't got to graft now" There seems a very soft under belly to all our teams at every level.....I don't see controlled aggresssion or total graft in the sides, I don't see a leaning towards Physical encounter to platform the talent, I see very few players big in stature or powerful, with drive and determination to succeed. are we producing shrinking violets down there or nurturing a philosophy of Que sera sera. I might be miles of course here, but ever since we have this gin palace of a training ground it seems like we have developed a rest home for over inflated ego's of football players.....who never got picked up by the elite.
  12. If I were to enjoy a beer during a match, what would I drink if I wanted to have an authentic Birmingham area pub/stadium experience?
  13. I've been looking up loads of stuff today on https://what3words.com I reckon my seat is "fleet.cheek.gladiators" https://what3words.com/fleet.cheek.gladiators Where do you sit?
  14. There's a meeting of the Fans Consultancy Group prior to Tuesday's game with Barnsley and VT have been invited. If there's anything you want to raise about the club, the matchday experience, ticketing, hospitality, merchandise, the club website or anything at all that isn't player performance, please let us know in this thread and we'll raise anything that people want raised at the meeting. Thank you!
  15. My daughter has just turned 2. She obviously doesnt understand the inner complexities of the beautiful game but loves seeing villa on tv. She recognises grealish (gree-wish), mcginn (ginn) and mings (ming) pointing at them and says villa at the tv. She even claps and cheers when we score. How young is too young to start attending games? What age did you start going or take your own kids, if you have any? Is the north stand still considered the family stand? Interested to hear your views

    AVTV 2018/9

https://7500toholte.sbnation.com/2018/8/4/17650894/avtv-guide-faqs-how-to-watch-aston-villa How to watch Aston Villa: AVTV Guide & FAQs Everything you need to know about AVTV By Phil Vogel@PBVogel Aug 4, 2018, 2:08pm BST SHARE Photo by Stu Forster/Getty Images AVTV is back and this year it comes with graphics! Let’s start with the basic info. If a game is scheduled for television broadcast AVTV cannot show video. Knowing that off the top will help clarify some of the confusion. No full match replays will be posted (writer’s note: BOOOOOO!). Prices are listed below — do the math to see what is best for you. If you signed up last year there is no automatic renewal. AVTV does not work through any streaming platforms (Chromecast, Apple TV, ect). Must be used through a computer. Season ticket holders no longer get an audio subscription included. Club says that is due to EFL regulations. Everything else is all location based — so I’m going to split this up. UK, Ireland & Channel Isles There are going to be select midweek matches that are made available through AVTV. Once again — these are matches that are not on TV anywhere in the world. Before you complain to the club about the hefty price tag — £10 was set up as the minimum price by the EFL. What games can you expect? “Any games played outside of blocked hours (not between 14:45 – 17:15 on a Saturday) and not shown by Sky Sports will be available to watch for domestic fans. Fixtures taking place on Bank Holidays or Easter will be unavailable for streaming.” International Plus This is a nice list to be on! If you are located (or your computer thinks you are located) in a country on the list — congratulations for an extra price you get to break the one rule of AVTV I listed at the top. Television broadcast does not matter to you — you get to watch all 46 matches live. International Minus The rest of the world — you are did not make the plus list. Don’t take it personally. For a cheaper price you can access to the matches that are not shown on television. Obviously Sky gets to determine that and I’m certain will do everything in their power not to inconvenient you with their decisions (this is not an accurate statement). If you are radio lover — things are easy. Audio is always available to everyone, regardless of location, for every match. Finally troubleshooting — “For any in-game coverage issues this season, viewers can contact @AVFCSupport on Twitter or our stream hosts directly via AVTVsupport@streamamg.com.”
  18. An article this morning in The Times regarding Championship clubs selling then leasing back their grounds, says Villa Park may be sold if we are not promoted.
  19. Just seen this... https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2019/04/24/access-to-bodymoor-heath?view=amp&__twitter_impression=true Anyone know why? Some on Twitter saying mings was recently threatened... Maybe Bielsa has been sending spies!

    The pitch

Anyone else think the pitch looked awful yesterday? Worst i've seen it look in a long time. Reading on twitter (could well be rubbish) that we have cut costs on ground keeping. Hope this is rubbish, as did we not used to win awards for this? If it gets a lot worse, a shit pitch isn't going to make playing at home easier in this vital 2nd half of the season
  22. I know Randy was obligated to keep the name of the stand as part of the sale but does anyone know where that stands now? Might be time for a rename. With Saunders in ill health it would be nice to honour him whilst he's alive.

  24. ASTON VILLA LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE PRE-PAID MEMBER CARDS Aston Villa Football Club has become the first club in the world to integrate pre-paid contactless and chip and pin payment technology into its season and member cards. The new technology will enable fans to use their Aston Villa season or member cards in the same way as any pre-paid payment card, including contactless payments up to £30, with fans earning Pride Rewards points at a ratio of one point for every pound spent. Fans will be able to use their cards to enter the stadium as well as at all Villa Park payment terminals, including concourses, the ticket office, and the Aston Villa Store. The card will also enable fans to shop, both on the high street and online, with a host of affiliate retailers who will be announced in the near future. Only cash loaded on to the card can be used and transactions will work in exactly the same way as a payment card. Luke Organ, chief commercial officer at Aston Villa Football Club, said: “We are committed to giving fans the best experience possible when dealing with the club, either as season ticket holders or members. “The new contactless, chip and pin technology will ensure that season ticket holders and members can use their card to buy merchandise and refreshments at the ground on match day, or on the high street with our affiliate retail partners – all the time earning Pride Rewards points.” Traditionally, season and member cards have been restricted to stadium access and online members benefits, but by introducing the integrated payment capability, Aston Villa will be able to build a more detailed and personalised understanding of each season ticket holder. Luke continued: “The incorporation of the latest payment technology is a logical extension of season and fan card technological capability, which will allow the club to improve interaction with its fan base, whilst recognising and rewarding loyalty. “Once points have been earned, cardholders will be able to redeem their points against a variety of merchandise and offers in the Pride Rewards area of the Villa app, with rewards on offer including apparel, hotel stays, signed and personalised merchandise and exclusive matchday entertainment.” “We are being very proactive in engaging our corporate partners and other high street retailers to join the programme, which will enable them to leverage the strength and buying power of the significant Aston Villa fanbase.” The technology behind the new integrated payment and stadium access card is being provided by FortressGB, one of the world’s leading providers of loyalty, payment and access solutions to the sports and entertainment industry. http://www.bqlive.co.uk/leisure-tourism-hospitality/2018/01/08/news/aston-villa-launches-innovative-pre-paid-member-cards-29825/
  25. The new ticketing system has been a bit of a shambles , should have been live yesterday morning , still not fully functioning. No sign of the Shrewsbury or Walsall tickets on there , i do wonder sometimes if we are moving forward at all?
