I'm all for sacking him, I've had enough. But yes 7 games is crazy swift, and I said it last season with RDM too.

He's had all but 11 games of last season, a pre season, 2 transfer windows AND these 7 games. It's not knee jerk is it? He's had a year and we are truly awful. Brentford totally schooled us AGAIN at home. Only one team on that pitch knew how to play football, and it definitely wasn't us. Our players were arguing with each other whilst they passed rings around us. We had 1 shot on target, if Tony acts now I don't think he could be accused of rashness personally, Bruce has had a LOT of time to get us to a stage where we are not totally humiliated by Brentford.

It really isn't when these 7 games are a continuation of the garbage we saw last season under the same manager.
TheAuthority Posted September 11, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted September 11, 2017 I think he should be gone but what comes next? He's stacked the squad with Bruce type players. Particularly in this last window with Elmo, Snodgrass and Terry (who said he came because of Bruce's recruitment of him.) Garde came in and there was a revolt from the Sherwood fan bois in the squad and we know how that ended. We could get a fantastic forward thinking, european coach but would he be able to galvanize a very British based, older playing staff?

Not saying I don't want it to happen as I'd love a new young trendy exciting manager to come in and galvanise us all, just saying I think after Tuesday Bruce will be gone and the football world will condemn us for acting too swiftly. 7 games or 11 months. Depends how you want to view.
terrytini
"The football world" knows what it can do with its condemnation. They don't have to watch us every week and live with the misery between games.
ender4
I'm reading the comments here and finding myself agreeing with both sides of the argument. All i can say, its a tough decision either way and i'm glad i'm not the one having to make it.
vreitti
It really isn't a tough decision. When it isn't working you have to make a change. We've seen enough, we KNOW it isn't working. Palace has just let De Boer go, perhaps this will trigger the manager merry-go-round.
LakotaDakota
Pressure is off now for being the first to sack someone so time to go

theboyangel
my initial thought was the use of the word 'team' - this to me means the players, not Bruce. also, it's clear he's not happy from the first line. hopefully he's already drafting the severance letter to Bruce. maybe I'm reading more into that than what was intended. Sounds to me like he's fell for wyness telling him Bruce is the man
Rodders
yeah that's not good. Tony - this is on you, personally I think that's been the case since the horrific debacle that was the Cardiff match, but each subsequent failure is only ruining your own investment. On your head if you lament a failure to go up.

Rodders
yep, more importantly that. I was phrasing it in terms as if he was actually reading / listening I guess. Appealing to what he would care about first.
dounavilla
I'm reading it as " we know how WE are all feeling right now" and "Get behind the team regardless" but I'm sencing he's going basicly saying : Please get behind the team and the managers situation will be sorted. Just imo of course.
dounavilla
On Talk sport they just pointed out we have won 2 in the last 12 league games and that Steve Bruce needs to pull his finger out or he will be off.

I think you're definitely reading way too much into that! He's aware of the bad atmosphere and the booing and is simply asking everyone to get behind the team, even though things aren't great right now.
