I'm just wondering how far we'll go before the free fall is halted. I'm not expecting us to stay up this year. Surely we won't get dicked in league 1?

don't tempt fate you bastard!! :D

I cant believe that Sky Bet has us as wide as 28/1 to be relegated.

In relative terms, is this season worse than last season? Obviously depends on how we finish, but any position lower than where we are now is surely on par with 15/16.

its a lot worse, last year we didnt have a net spend like we currently do and signed unproven lads from France and a couple of wasters. This season we signed manager who is a promotion "expert" and proven players in this division

not making an attempt at the play-offs with money we spent is a lot worse than last season

We look like doing a Leeds/Sheffield Wednesday. They however had massive financial problems- there is no excuse for that for us. How can we be so consistently shite for so long?

Consistently hiring bad managers and overpaying for average players (fees and wages), it will take a long time to turn things around as the current regime has continued to make bad mistakes. Getting a capable manager in would be a start.

Yes- but the recent purchases have mostly been performing well at this level for other clubs.

We have a experienced manager who has a excellent cv at this level

We have a well regarded person in the game in charge of player performance and recruitment

We have a experienced ceo in charge who did  a decent job at a similar sized club

We have inexperienced  but very enthuastic owner. but has so far splurged a huge amount of cash at the club

We have a very patient and loyal fanbase going every week home and away

What are we doing wrong?

Is some sort of paganistic ritual required to the footballing gods?

What have we done to deserve this never ending misery?

It is genuinely amazing. Our staggering multi year nose dive surely has to rate up there in terms of improbability, it maybe higher than Lesta winning the league.

The recent purchases have all been given whopping salaries. Of course they performed better before their life changing pay increases. They won't get contracts like these ones again.

Not being able to watch or follow the Newcastle game, one comment I saw on VT was that when Hogan was carried off, and I quote  " it took 3 minutes before any Villa player went over to see how he was.....the first player who did was Hutton"....thats shocking if that was the case.

That says it all....what is missing from this team is....Team Spirit....without that we are deep in the mire

Wouldnt that same attribution to the players apply equally to the manager?

So what would be the blockbuster clashes in league one?

Westwood is pissing himself laughing. Playing in a team that plays decent football, and watching us relegate ourselves.....

For another thread but he really didn't deserve the treatment he got on here, but those who gave it to him won't admit it.
