Jareth Posted February 3, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted February 3, 2016 We get six good championship players for 1 Nzogbia. It won't be money that's the problem. Huge opportunity for any manager to come in and for once not have to deal with relics of the past from the get go. Gabby aside...
abdulaziz1
The thing is could we deal the pressure? We need to be on the top two. Anything less than top 6 at the beginning of the league could affect our confidence. Weve all seen what low confidence have done for us. Thats why winning some game and fight to even not be bottom would help us mentally.

VillaChris
If we were on 20 points I'd actually back us to stay up. Too far behind I'm afraid even if we beat Norwich.
penguin
Everton were always going to be tough, they'll beat anyone on their day. I think Newcastle have done enough to stay up although I hope they don't in a way even if it means an extremely competitor next season.
useless
If we go down, I'd rather Newcastle not come down with us, as I'd imagine they'd be pretty strong next year. Not really a nice thing to have to think about.
VillaChris
You rate their defence then? They'll have to score a lot of goals between now and the end of the season to stay up, bit like we did under Lambert in his first season I reckon. useless
I've just looked at the table (I was too scared to do so last night) and I still think we can do it. Norwich is a big game.
KSV
Its down to the last four now. Lose to Norwich... even the most optimistic will give up. Win... you never know.

Popular Post dont_do_it_doug.
We'd still go down. If we'd signed a half decent striker on January 4th like we should have I'm convinced we'd be 4 points better off right now and, I think, we'd be in with a good shout. Humble opinion.

Humble opinion. The loss of Ayew is the nail in the coffin for me. If I was Garde now I'd go for the lineup Sherwood put out against Leicester, with Gabby up front and Grealish, Sinclair and Gil behind, and hope they play like they did in the first half of that game. That would see Gana and Veretout as 2 in midfield I guess.

PussEKatt
So, how much will we lose in revinue by dropping down to the championship ? We will lose the TV money and some ST sales and some merchandise, what else and what will the total loss be ?
Keyblade
It will be enormous I think. clubs like Crystal Palace have seen something like a 200% increase in revenue since they came up. I know we're bigger than them, but whatever revenue we get will be a drop in the water compared to the tv deal (the current one, the fact that the new one is colossal twists the stake in the heart).
