No offence to Leicester, but they are hardly a team of high repute, it's not really a marker that he chose us over them. Is it financial? Ie, even lower half PL teams can offer more attractive financial packages than other European CL teams? What we do know is that Villa is a great stepping stone into international football. Perhaps the offer of regular football, and a big stage has tempted him. Perhaps we are selling an attractive, ambitious vision to these new signings? Anyway, I hope he's as good as reputed. He seems worth the gamble. It's the type of low risk gamble that had paid off for us before. Delph, Benteke, Milner, Young, all players who had yet to have played their best football until they arrived here, but all had pedigree, a large price tag and we're considered good signings at the time. This off season has been absolutely brilliant so far, even with the loss of Benteke.
