He had all the attributes to be top class. I think injury problems over his career have ruined him.

disagree with the second bit

he had the attributes and the flaws when he broke through and then 2/3 years after, and then 10 years later... he's never adapted or grown as a player, he makes the same mistakes for us that he was making as a raw 18 year old for city

and he may have missed games with niggly injuries but he didnt lose 2 years of playing due to injury, he spent a year as 3rd choice RB at city raking in a fortune, 19 league games in 3 years, before joing us, he got found out but we fell for the hype

I disagree.

He was a better plauer at 18. He has gotten worse.

We desperately need to get rid of him, but I can't believe anyone will take him off our hands.

He should be mortified, as a professional. He ended the season unable to get into by far the worst defence in the league, his place taken by Kevin Toner, a basically average youth team player who had never played a professional match before. But if he gives a shit, there's no sign of it.

Just another waster, but he was team captain and he should have given so much more. One of the main culprits for me.

Probably could have posted this in any one of about 4 threads, but Micah is probably due some

"For Richards it’s more of a sad tale having been long beset by injury problems, but his recruitment screams of a Sherwood gambit; you can envisage the conversation: “Helluva player was Micah, if we can just get him back to his best…” and boom, a four year contract lands in the post. He too was young enough to hope for but also hadn’t managed anything like a full season or even a half season since 2011-12.  The possibility of his retained fitness seemed remote, and to his credit he has achieved that, but certainly he is not the player he was, and even a cursory review of his recent career and problems with injury would reveal that. He may well now continue his career at Villa and find the Championship more to his current level."

Tbf to Sherwood though Richards on a free seemed like bloody good business. Started well then he was found out to be a terrible defender. Also a terrible attitude mixed in with creeps like lescott, flabby and bacuna and voila you have a disaster on our hands that leads to relegation.

between him and flabby two of the biggest disgraces to ever captain the club. Just leave our club neither of you deserve to be here to share our exciting future.

Not everyone agreed.

But what really put the nail in the coffin was the United home game. He was shamelessly skinned by Januzaj for their goal.I think it's a total myth that he started well, that game was very early on and he was shite from that point on.

Poisonous has to go

I'd like nothing more than to see him leave, but would anyone be stupid enough to buy him? I think there's a very real possibility he'll be here next season and RDM will look to utilise him (maybe a RB).

Is he beyond redemption? Would RDM give him another crack in the Championship?

If by that you mean cracking him round the back of the head with a shovel and burying him in the desert then yes, RDM should do exactly that.
