Tom Fox has incurred Aston Villa fans' wrath in the last couple of days after his hefty wage was released to the public.

According to the financial report for Reform Acquisitions Ltd, the parent company and owner of Aston Villa, covering the 12-month period up to May 31, 2015, Villa's highest-paid director was paid £1.25 million.

The figure puts him sixth in the the Daily Mail's Premier League highest paid directors list after executives from Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea.

It recently emerged that fans paying up to £400 for hospitality packages no longer get chocolate digestives at half-time because of cutbacks.

But just how many biscuits could Tom Fox purchase and what else could he buy with his salary ?

833,333 packs of chocolate digestives

378,787 pies at Villa Park

25,000 Villa shirts

3,731 Villa season tickets

73,529 Aston Villa: Champions of Europe 1982 DVDs

122 season tickets for EVERY Premier League club

Aston Villa Supporters Trust recently met with Tom Fox.

The Supporters Trust have been receiving a lot of communication from our members since the lack of action in the January transfer window.  After a brief respite in January, the performances on the pitch have again nosedived into the dismal and we find ourselves waiting for the trapdoor to open beneath us.

With that as a backdrop, it is no surprise that our supporters are angry and made their feelings known with a walkout protest at the Everton game.  The view of the AVST board is that, whilst people have every right to voice their displeasure, our role is to ensure that lessons have been learned and that the club is now putting all possible effort into ensuring our swift return to the Premier League, after what now appears inevitable relegation.

Last week, we asked for a meeting with Tom Fox to discuss what the club were doing in preparation for the Championship and to change our fortunes.  Tom accepted the meeting, attending with Lee Preece.  The meeting took place at Villa Park and an open and honest discussion was held which covered six key areas.

Firstly, we made the point that we need a statement of intent from the owner.  Over the last 18 months we have been put up for sale, then told he was “not a motivated seller” and had a new Chairman and board member added.  The club recognised that there were questions around the owner that they needed to address with supporters and that they would do this as part of a wider communique before the end of the season.  We pointed out that uncertainty just leads to more frustrations from the supporters and that we want confidence that the manager will have the appropriate means to get us back up at the first time of asking.  This was acknowledged.

We also asked about the future of the manager.  It was clear that Tom had belief in Remi Garde and there was no suggestion that the board may look elsewhere in the summer.  With that in mind, we also questioned the lack of activity in January.  Tom confirmed that deals were in place for a new goalkeeper and striker but both broke down late in the window.  He was particularly upset at the FA in respect of their decision not to ratify the transfer of the goalkeeper.  He made clear that it was not a question of promised funds being withdrawn.

We had a lengthy discussion about ticket pricing for next season and repairing the fractured relationship between the board and the supporters.  We were assured that they are working on a ticketing plan already and that they were intent on us being keenly priced in order to fill Villa Park next season.  We offered our own ideas to include rewarding supporters with discounts for long term loyalty or offering a rebate on the cost of a season ticket next year for those who have suffered through watching the last five.  Our ideas were taken on board but a full ticketing plan will not be released until we know what division we will start in.  This will likely form part of the wider communication noted earlier.

Also to be included in this will be a statement of intent that clearly sets out how the board intend to move us in the right direction.  The findings of the current ongoing review you may have heard about will form the basis of this.  Whilst there has been widespread speculation about the purpose of the review, this is wide ranging and looking at all parts of the Aston Villa operation.

We also talked about the public relations disasters that we seem to be running into all too frequently of late.  This was acknowledged and there was an appetite to set the agenda with the press rather reacting to it as we seem to currently.  This will again be covered by the communication later in the season.

Ultimately, it was a productive meeting and we got a genuine sense that our views had been taken on board.  We look forward with interest to seeing what part they form in the clubs plans going forwards.

How many more of these productive meetings will it require for us to interpret these guys as being full of shit, for example, as their previous actual (not intended!) behavior suggests?

Good point. This calls for immediate discussion.

WM apparently reporting that Fox won't be at Sunday's game.

I'm guessing he didn't enjoy 30,000 people say they didnt like him at the last home game

Coincidentally, we're recruiting for 15,000 new stewards. Applicants who have their own truncheon are preferred.

Any meeting with this man is a waste of time. It's his job to put a positive spin on things. The word removed has played his part in sending us down and we should not let him off the hook because he's good at talking with small groups of supporters.

Why do I get an image of 15.000 people in brown claret and blue uniforms beating down anyone who raises their voice against the club and our exalted leader

Claret and blue army indeed

I can't see much room for a CEO with the way the board is being constructed.

Fox must be bricking it, if not already sacked - scrutinising his every move now are an ex chairman of the FA, an ex bank of England govenor and lifelong Villa fan, a Villa legend ex player and manager. Previously Fox had simply to charm Randy over the phone.

Who do you think is going to run the club day to day? Hollis already has 3 other jobs.

in fairness you could say that about any team in Premier League

Anyone can keep saying that about everything.

there has to be something to aspire to or emulate.....not necessarily entirely, but even partially.

When Villa won the League and Euro cup.....do you think it went unnoticed in boardrooms in the first division, do you not think questions were raised as to how we could do that on a shoestring.....Leicester are only doing what we did.

We have done enough in the past for us to look no further than our own history, to get us out of this mess.

because everyone thought he was going to be good.

myself and my work colleague were pleased upon the arrival of a third person to our department, we was assured he was good with a glowing cv to prove it, he started ok but wasnt willing to balance the work load, he was always late and snook out an hour early every day because he couldnt be arsed to do his hours, he has now been made surplus to requirements, we now regular see him posting rubbish on fb, he doesnt have a new job yet...

my point is this, most people seem good appointments at the beginning until they show their true colours, everyone can blag a cv.

I think he should be demoted, he is obviously a good commercial manager. To be fair people were happy when he came.

That's funny, cause since he came we have lost 17 million in commercial revenue.

" Its not what folk know, its what they do" thats important.

words are cheap.....action is valuable.
