Jose Mourinho

dont know Guardiola was slaughtered last year for his treatment of the club doctor and the players reacted horribly to that. She seems quite close to the players

The difference with that was that Guardiola was directly blaming them for the amount of injuries Bayern had and was essentially saying they were shit at their job. Plus he blamed them for losing to Porto. Not to mention his childish, sarcastic applause of him after a player got injured.

That's not to say Mourinho wasn't being a bit of a dick, just that his dickishness seems more calculated to ease pressure on the team.

Carneiro is the one making the headlines because it's more newsworthy to try and make it a sexist thing. It would be a footnote if it had been Fearn on his own or 2 blokes. Moving on.

I don't agree. It's interesting that fearn copped most of the criticism after the game, but that it's carneiro who has been punished most severely, and more Importantly, publicly. It could be a minor problem for them - she's obviously popular with both fans and players. Probably nothing, but they don't seem to have a great feeling at the club right now.

As much of a word removed Mourinho is, no-one's talking about Chelsea dropping 2 points at home on the opening day to a mid table team.

And there's no way Chelsea will sack her. For a start Hazard asked for the medical staff, she was just doing her job, plus Chelsea had virtually no injuries last season which is probably in part down to her and the rest of their medical staff. Not to mention that she would probably be picked up fairly quickly by someone else in the league if sacked as she seems to be fairly good at her job (See: last sentence)

Seems to me that Mourinho is just using this to deflect from their lacklustre start last weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if her and and the other guy were in on it.

Exactly this.

Wouldn't surprise me whatsoever if Mourinho had tol the medical staff he was going to have a go at them.

He does it every time Chelsea don't win, does something weird or petty to make everybody talk about him rather than his team **** up. The only surprising thing is that people are still falling for it.

Interesting. This could mean Mourinho hasn't a leg to stand on.

Jose Mourinho's attack on two key members of Chelsea's medical staff was little more than one of many talking points in the aftermath of Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea on the first day of the season.

Doctor Eva Carneiro and physio Jon Fearn entered the field of play to treat Eden Hazard, thus ensuring Chelsea were momentarily down to nine men after the Belgian was forced to leave the pitch. Mourinho ranted on the sideline and then threw his medical team under the bus during the post match interview.

It was classic Mourinho, anyone but his players were at fault for a poor result. It would be news for a day or two and then it would be on to the next thing that came out of the Chelsea manager's mouth but then the decision was taken to effectively demote Carneiro and things changed.

If, as many have suggested, this is another example of Mourinho selecting a scapegoat to divert attention away from his players then he may well have gone too far this time. Carneiro hasn't been sacked but she will will no longer attend games, training sessions or enter the team hotel.

The reason for this is that neither she nor Fearn understood the rules of the game according to Mourinho. Except, the problem with that is that they do.

Footage of the incident has shown that referee Michael Oliver twice called for Chelsea's medical team to treat Hazard who appeared to be seriously injured. If Carneiro decides to follow a legal route on this, then this intervention from Oliver is all the proof she needs.

According to the independent.co.uk, the General Medical Council guidelines mean that under these circumstances, Carneiro was obliged to enter the field of play regardless of what Mourinho thought about it.

In light of this, if, as it appears, the club have gone along with Mourinho's assertion and demoted Carneiro, the Chelsea manager will have some serious questions to answer.

Or she'll be reinstated and everything will go back to normal until the next time the team **** up.

Then he'll blame the tea lady, everybody will write stories about that and nobody will care that his team lost.

Like we said above, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he's told the medical staff that he was going to do this.

If they're in on it then fair enough.  If they're not though, I can't see the working environment going back to normal by getting re-instated through a legal process.  If they weren't in on it then she'll end up in the right, but she'll end up working somewhere else soon.

Regardless of the intentions behind it, hanging someone out to dry like that and saying in public that someone is "naive" and essentially not very good at their job is a really, really shitty thing to do at a human level (especially when it looks as though he's got it wrong). Mourinho is becoming more and more of a horrible word removed by the season.

Coming on here it looks like I'm not alone in thinking this is a typical Mourinho ploy, to take the limelight off his players after an underwhelming performance, it wouldn’t be the first time, and look how many articles it has generated across the media. I have no doubt the anger he showed at the time of the incident was genuine, but he seems intelligent enough to realise retrospectively that the doctors were not in wrong. The doctors are probably in on this sideshow now.

If this is not the case, he is indeed losing his marbles

Seems implausible that it was a set-up between manager and medical staff as Mourinho's reaction was instant and furious.

Also the ban suggests a breakdown in relations. Wonder if the guys on the medical team have also been banned?

A medical professional is only employed for the health and well-being of the players, the scoreline or circumstances of the game should have no bearing. There is not a court in the land that wouldn't find in her favour should she go down the constructive dismissal route.

Exhibit number one, highlights from MOTD.

Mourinho is very wrong on this....even having a look on CFC.net and you can understand them being incredibly biased and defensive of Mourinho but plenty on there are saying he's overstepped the mark here.

She's a cheap target...how about banning Hazard from the stadium on match days seeing as he started all this!

I didnt see the incident actually but did Hazard go down lightly or was he actually hurt? If he went down looking for a free surely Jose and his one man crusade against diving should ban his player for a game

**though as he in my fantasy team maybe a harsh warning ;))
