Mourinho will win them the league again. They weren't too far away this year and they've been well below their best.

Jose Mourinho was involved in an amazing half-time bust-up with his players as Chelsea appeared to blow their last chance of winning the title by drawing 0-0 with Norwich.

Sportsmail can reveal that Mourinho, who stormed down the tunnel at half-time, blasted a number of players including Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah for their shocking performances in the opening 45 minutes. He later admitted the first-half display was ‘lazy’.

The meltdown came before Ashley Cole walked off the field in tears as he prepares to leave the club after eight years.

It is understood manager Mourinho told Matic he was having serious reservations about the decision to bring him back to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Egypt winger Salah, who was dragged off at  half-time, was told to make sure he returned for  pre-season ‘ready to be a footballer’.

Mourinho then stormed out of the dressing room and appeared in the dug-out a few minutes before the start of the second half, sitting alone until his players came out.

Chelsea declined to comment on Sunday night.

Despite the disappointment of dropping two points against relegation-threatened Norwich, the Chelsea squad still completed a lap of the field after the final whistle.

But it was all too much for Cole, 33, who has won a Premier League, Champions League and four FA Cups since his controversial move from Arsenal in 2006.

The left back was consoled by skipper John Terry as he wept. Cole’s contract is up this summer and the defender is expected to go.

Cole and Terry, together with Frank Lampard, who could also leave, acknowledged the Matthew Harding Stand at the end, fuelling speculation the trio, who have 1,609 Blues appearances between them, are finished at Chelsea.

However Mourinho, despite warning all three may have to wait before their futures are decided, believes they will stay.

‘Will they play at Stamford Bridge again? I think so, but the summer is a long summer for us,’ said the Portuguese.

‘For the players at the World Cup, it’s a different story. But for us, as a club, it’s a long time to be calm, to sit and discuss and analyse the market and possibilities. A long time.’

Mourinho admitted the season could have been better, adding: ‘We lost games where we had them under control but didn’t kill them and we were killed. But from day one, never in danger, never outside the top four or outside the title race.’

Mourinho is losing it IMO - he's alienating players (first Mata and now apparently Hazard, Oscar and Ramires)

He's only just got there and finding out which players are willing to buy into the team. If you aren't and openly criticise him - remember, Mata and Hazard opened their traps first - then don't expect Mourinho to sit back and let a selfish player have a pop. The Hazard situation is worse as their "negative" football was working until he decided he didn't have to put any effort in.

Mourinho can sell these players for a tonne of cash and bring in players he feels, or knows, are willing to put a shift in every week. That's what his teams need, players to fight for it.

I understand what you're saying but to me, Mourinho's arrogance is getting in the way of him actually managing the club.

Sure, he could sell the likes of Hazard, Oscar et al and for a fair sum but why do they need to?? Those players (especially Hazard) have kept them going all season and setting up chances for their ineffective strikeforce.

Mourinho likes his players to put a shift in. Ideally I'm sure Mourinho would want to keep them, but his system really relies on effort. As you saw with Hazard not tracking Juanfran, if the players take a few minutes off it can cost them. I do hope he sells Oscar personally, his diving is criminal.

don't know why he has had a go at Matic, has been probably his best signing this season

I agree, I think the piece probably went OTT and it was just talking about yesterdays game where he was pointless.

think ROman is still angry at them for ruining AVB Chelsea career, Cole didn't look happy being dragged off on Wednesday and from the 3 I imagine he be the most certain to leave

Don't think Mourinho yelling at his players is arrogant. These players are getting paid millions and if they just lazily go out there and don't do their job, they deserve to be scolded for it.

His side next year is going to be absolutely ridiculous if they buy well. With the big luiz sale and the mata and de Bruyne January sales, the really must have near £100 million to spend on an already solid squad.

He want's Varane to replace Luiz but why would Real sell their star prospect?

Can't see them selling, the only way would is if Chelsea were offering a player Madrid wanted?

and who would Madrid want off Chelsea if being honest

Eva Carneiro is poised to lose her place on the Chelsea bench after the club doctor’s role was significantly changed as part of a backroom shake-up by manager Jose Mourinho.

The timing of the changes will raise a number of questions after Carneiro was publicly criticised by Mourinho, following the 2-2 Premier League draw against Swansea City.

It is understood that while Carneiro will remain Chelsea’s first-team doctor, she will not attend training sessions, games or enter the hotel. As things stand, she is not expected to be on the bench for Sunday’s trip to Manchester City.

Carneiro, however, will still carry out her work with first-team players at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground in what is being seen internally as a re-tasking of duties.

There will be minor changes to the role of first-team physiotherapist Jon Fearn, who was given a private dressing down by Mourinho after the Swansea game. With his place on the bench at Eastlands also in doubt, Academy doctor Julian Redhead may have to step up.

It remains to be seen whether Carneiro will accept her new lower-profile role long term, although she is not the only member of Mourinho’s staff to have their working arrangements changed.

Over the summer, Mourinho has made a number of adjustments to the ways in which members of his support staff work and there will be more to follow. The Portuguese has questioned the work of goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon behind the scenes.

Mourinho suggested that Carneiro and Fearn did not “understand the game” after they attempted to treat Eden Hazard in stoppage time of Chelsea’s draw against Swansea

As much of a word removed Mourinho is, no-one's talking about Chelsea dropping 2 points at home on the opening day to a mid table team.

And there's no way Chelsea will sack her. For a start Hazard asked for the medical staff, she was just doing her job, plus Chelsea had virtually no injuries last season which is probably in part down to her and the rest of their medical staff. Not to mention that she would probably be picked up fairly quickly by someone else in the league if sacked as she seems to be fairly good at her job (See: last sentence)

Seems to me that Mourinho is just using this to deflect from their lacklustre start last weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if her and and the other guy were in on it.

Carneiro is the one making the headlines because it's more newsworthy to try and make it a sexist thing. It would be a footnote if it had been Fearn on his own or 2 blokes. Moving on.

Mourinho is a master at protecting his players. Simple case of "nothing to see here, look over there." He's been doing this for years whenever Chelsea don't perform to expectations.
