It’s fun seeing their ex players stumped at why they aren’t back among the elite yet.
They seem to think that they have a dip, then just return cos they are man United and generate lots of income.

The squad last night was appalling. The quality and effort on the pitch was just as bad. An absolute shambles that everyone involved in should be ashamed of.

Theres no excuse for lack of effort. I’ve seen under 11’s getting battered with more fight in them than United last night.

The narrative around that Hannibal player was ridiculous too.  Came on, lost the ball for a Liverpool goal and then decided to boot players.  "At least it shows he cares" - does it **** :D  He was shit.

I’ve seen some of that on social media today too. He had a horrendous cameo. Gave away the ball for a goal and should have been sent off, all in 5 minutes.

They are fortunate that they generate so much money, because they are going to need it. The need to forget about what has gone before, the money wasted on the likes of Maguire and Wan Bissaka, and players out of form like Rashford and Pogba.

Blank piece of paper time, who is good enough for where United want to be over the next 3-5 years? Not many, but thats the reality. Get rid of the dozens of scouts who clearly don’t know what they are doing. Put an efficient scouting structure in place and start rebuilding. No panic buys.

As much as we laugh at them it is almost impossible for them to ever finish outside the top 8 or so given their huge revenue streams. Even if its by accident eventually they will get it right and start winning things again. They are still 18 points ahead of us despite looking deeply ordinary all season.

They’re a joke, and terrible, but

They’re 6th. It’s a travesty of modern football that a team can be 6th in the top league and this is the narrative around them and every game they play.

Tough shit lads, imagine if you got relegated.

Its like the later day Wenger era when the fans moaned when they came 5th and won the FA Cup.

The hyperbolic pity-party that Neville conjures up every time they lose a game on TV does my nut in. "It's a disgrace, it's as bad as it gets, they're a nothing team." Gary mate, you're sixth. You've spent a billion quid. You were still in the Champions League a fortnight or so ago. Have some perspective.

Yep its getting old fast. United lose and the world is ending everytime.

Liverpool are a quality, well drilled, well organised team. Getting beaten by them at Anfield is no shame for any team in the world to be honest.

Saying that, it was utterly pathetic from United last night.

Always the owners fault though...who have chucked money after money at it.

Not the clowns they keep hiring. His best mate at the forefront

The thing for me is that man utd were and still are at the forefront for driving football down this overly commercialised route with huge partnership deals, they benefitted from it for years, they put a bloke in charge who was brilliant at getting sunglasses partner deals and now it's all come home to roost, man utd played a huge role in shaping world football to what it is today and its caught up with them

They had their 20 years at the top thanks to commercial activity, now they're suffering because they've prioritised commercial activity, anyone who feels any kind of sympathy for them needs their head checking

Said this before on here, but a few years back I had a Man Utd fan start working for me. When I asked him who he supported and he said Man U obviously I assumed he knew nothing about football.

I asked him how he thought the season would go. He said something along the lines of

"I'm not expecting much, we're not that great. I'd settle for top 4 and an FA Cup"

I nearly slapped him

Regardless of the optimism or pessimism, I absolutely loathe the Carragher and Neville era of commentary, and long for the days where there'd be a bit of professionalism and they'd at least pretend to be neutral.

Fed up of feeling like I'm watching Man United or Liverpool fan TV when they play.

Thats football fans though. No matter how shite a kid is if you're in a crap run and he comes on he 'looks bright and hungry'

I remember Vassilev getting plaudits in our crap run for controlling a football.

It surprises me still how man u fans and the ex man u player pundits refer to the club as if it's the best in the premier league still. "These arent man united players" "they should be honoured to play for "manchester united" "Fergie wouldn't accept this etc."

They haven't won the premier league for close to a decade. Players like Haaland and Sancho would have been in primary school the last time that they were dominant.

Also Hicks and Gillette. Bought Liverpool and borrowed every single last penny from RBS. Theoretically I could have done that

Rabbithole. Because of this I had to check current Liverpool owners. Fenway Group. Head of it is John W. Henry. Picture showed a hot woman beside him. Checking further it's his wife Linda. Further investigating confirms she has a lovely chest.

RESULT!

aint that the truth.

Hourihane - "he's PL quality" - now sitting at the bench at Sheff Utd.

Vassilev - "he's quality, will improve our team" - couldnt get a start in the U.S of A.

Green - "shouldnt have let him go, he's quality" - not even a single Champ club signed him up when he left.

Nyland - "he's a great shot stopper" - dont need to say anything.

Taylor - "he's an adequate PL left back" - dont need to say anything.

Trez - "he works hard, that important" - ye ok, how about working hard and being good at kicking a football.

El Ghazi - "he has moments, he scored goals" - hasnt started a single game for relegation threatened Everton.

The list goes on, im sure most other clubs have the same over rating of their players, but it is funny.
