useless Posted April 1 Share Posted April 1 Guimarães has perhaps been overrated but still a good player, would probably be a good signing for Manchester United for example. But surely Newcastle will do all they can to avoid selling, when you look at their squad despite owner's wealth and recent relative success, they don't actually have much in the way of top players, without selling one of the few they do have, if they want to become serious challengers on a consistent basis they need to build team around the likes of Guimarães and Isak 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I can see them signing Kelly though basically as they've just lost two LCBs for most of next season so desperately need a fresh face there and he's on a free and someone Howe signed before. For a sporting director to go so soon into a new major moneybags project, surely that's kind of a bad signal for the club? Massive overhaul for them this summer - possibly on a tight budget - new DoF, new manager a possibility, and lots of their best players being hunted by other clubs.
