Trump is filthy rich*, why would he break the law in his current role to try and get more money?

*That's debatable - In truth he is probably leveraged up to his eyeballs and uses businesses to pay for his lifestyle (ones that eventually fail.)

Also, enough is never enough for someone like him.

True, and he is an idiot so he probably thinks he’ll get away with daylight robbery.

It's quite similar to the chaos caused by the invention of the printing press 500 or so years ago.

Or tablet chiselers before that.

I'm guessing his clinical psychologist niece's recent book might shed some light on that.

Is he taking time out during this crisis for a cameo on a comedy show? That honestly seems like a scene out of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

4 years later it's still sinking in that there's a genuine moron in the White House.

I was watching it on my phone and had to double check it was really Trump and not Alec Baldwin doing a spoof.

I've just watched it now, it really is quite frightening that this man has his finger on the trigger

The key thing about that video is that it demonstrates very clearly how he gets his information from two sources only: firstly, cable TV, especially Fox and OANN, which try as much as possible to put a positive spin on things and divert the conversation into culture war trivia, and secondly, from aides who are preparing him simple, sunny charts focusing on the positive and being as easy to comprehend as possible. To what extent they are doing that because of his stupidity, his (literal) short-sightedness, his dementia, or his chronic lack of curiosity is less important than the fact that he's a fool being told that all is well outside the palace walls.

"we're first, that means we're last"

he's having things explained to him using fuzzy felt

A wise man once said:

Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?

People are going to prison for him, evangelicals are saying that God sent him, lives, liberty and America as a democracy are all under threat and this is the man they are prepared to toss it all away on?

They had the perfect opportunity to replace him with someone more ideologically doctrinaire who the media would have had a harder time bashing, and they completely bottled it. Complete lack of cojones.
