VillaGoMarching
Dunne will help our defence out. Wtf? He'll never play for us again.
Zatman
If New York is offering 4million for Dunne then we should sell immediately. We will never get that for him again. If we were to get 4 million for a currently injured 33 year old who has less than 6 months left on his contract then Paul Faulkner is the greatest businesman in history
TezzRexx
Its 4 million Zimbabwe dollars, about 3 quid in sterling. Still worth it
Nabby
Pat Murphy @patmurphybbc Richard Dunne hopes to be training with @AVFCOfficial 1st team next week. The pairing with Ron Vlaar can't come soon enough if Dunne gets fit
Zatman
badly needed at the moment. him and Vlaar at back will be like 2 new signings
Genie
badly needed at the moment. him and Vlaar at back will be like 2 new signings Very much this. I think Villa would look a totally different proposition with this pairing at the back
Nath182
Would love to see how Vlaar and Dunne would work out, I'm convinced it would improve our squad ten fold. Mind, I'm convinced that Warnock would improve our squad at the moment (not Hutton though, he's still shit).
omariqy
Just in time for a move? I would take it if it meant getting in an experienced younger and better centre back...
TheSufferingVilla
Dunne is slow, reckless, prone to errors but my god could we use his leadership on the pitch.
LockStockVilla
He really helped stabilise that back line when he came back from the broken collarbone last season, and if he has the same impact when he returns, I will be very happy!
AndyBM
we could do with both vlaar and dunne back, hopefully at the same time to a) give baker and clark and rest and show some leadership on the pitch
The_Steve
Dunne isn't good enough. Just as liable to give away a penalty, score an own goal or get caught out positionally.
LondonLax
I would feel much happier about our season if we could have Dunne and Vlaar at the back. You could then have two inexperienced players in the full back positions but to have 4 inexperienced defenders is suicide in this league. dudevillaisnice
Unfortunately Baker isn't ready yet, Clark hasn't improved either. I'm not a fan of Dunne but i'll take him over the two.. sad times.
LondonLax
Dunne isn't good enough. Just as liable to give away a penalty, score an own goal or get caught out positionally. We could not possibly be any worse in defense than we currently are. Even Dunne at his most reckless would still be an improvement.
TrentVilla Posted January 11, 2013 Moderator Share Posted January 11, 2013 I'd take Dunne.... anywhere he wanted to go as long as it was far away from VP.
Wainy316
Vlaar and Dunne is a bit of a double lughead pairing. Similar to Dunne and Collins, but at least they know where to bloody stand when a cross is coming in!
maqroll
Am I the only one who thinks we should hold onto Dunne for the rest of the season? Vlaar is the only reliable CB we've got. If he goes down again and we haven't got a new CB in, we're f*cked. If Lambert only has 10m to spend, he should buy a quality CM, and hold on to Bent and Dunne. TrentVilla Posted January 11, 2013 Moderator Share Posted January 11, 2013 in all fairness, and credit where its due, dunne has been brilliant for us past few seasons He was very good for half a season but never brilliant and certainly not for the last few seasons. AndyBM
ah two dunne threads, i thought my post had been deleted, lol dunne isnt as bad as whats being made out, hes still an experienced pro, he will be better than baker or clark at the moment, their confidence is hit hard and they need a rest
