Mainly for peanuts and beer. With open food (hot dogs, nachos) you go and get it yourself from inside the stadium. So presumably the vendor has to be decent at throwing accurately? I would have thought if you were engrossed in the game, having to pass someone’s cash along would be slightly irritating, even if it only takes a second. And if that person doesn’t have the correct money, presumably the change gets passed back to complete the transaction? I try and picture it happening in this country and it just seems unlikely.
