sidcow Posted October 23, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted October 23, 2018 Why does he take set pieces? He is utter dog shit. Every corner and free kick over hit or hitting first man. Every direct free kick high and wide or into the wall. Just who decides he takes them all?

Hourihane or McGinn take them all apart from inswinging corners from the left (as they're left-footed). I guess with both of those gone, he gets the nod. He was poor today, but still at least carries the ball forward. Think he was the only midfielder who bothered to do that.
rbcuk
He needs to be dropped, another game didn’t do anything, why does he take the free kicks can’t even get it over the wall

Uncle Albert
Poor poor game tonight, playing like the world owes him something at the moment.
M_Afro
Awful until the last 15 minutes when he was good. He needs to try and do things much more quickly. When he does, he is too good at this level.
ROTTERDAM1982
Doesn't get the ball quick enough off Whelan or Houirhane who were both really poor tonight Really missed Bikit and McGinn tonight. Jack and Alex T the only bright spots for me tonight

mykeyb
Would have took him off at half time, but was the only player posing and kind of threat in the 2nd half. He cannot do it on his own.
Farlz
Wasn't good tonight but there's absolutely no one to replace him with. Makes me laugh when I see suggestions of Hourihane, he's just a set piece merchant.
Indigo
Set pieces aside he played perfectly fine, albeit far from his best. He's going to come in for undue criticism as he often does now but he was at the centre of everything positive we did going forward with little help from anyone around him. He's 23 and isn't the type of player that is going to win a game by himself, which is essentially what we ended up relying on him to do by the end of the game. Dave-R
Didn't play awful, just didn't play brilliant though. It would be highly unfair of any of us to criticise Jack and not the other players, the only one who deserves a good mention would be Tuanzebe and all because he played really good. Norwich outplayed our team with there attacking football, as someone mentioned in the Norwich post, under bruce this would of easy been well earnt loss. Losing two of our players changed it for us, the ref wasn't the best either, really no excuses we lost and it seems lime some are trying to pin the blame on Jack which I don't think so as there were just as many others who would share that blame. We just got out played in the end and by a well drilled Norwich team.
grobs
Absolute rubbish. Slows every attack down, finally manages to win a free kick and then hits it into the wall. No end quality at all. 40 million? Absolute joke of a footballer.
weedman
Really poor again. I don't get it, he's good at beating players but literally only ever uses that to win free kicks. That free kick he won (the one he took straight into the wall) you could see he was desperate for a touch so he could go down and ended up luckily winning one after a heavy touch that almost gifted possession away. Defenders are getting wise to his tricks and pulling out of challenges, he seems to not know how to react to not winning a free kick What's even the point of winning free kicks when Hourihane isn't on the pitch? It only ends up with him taking them and he's terrible at it. If a set piece specialist isn't on the pitch I just don't see what Jack offers at the moment
Killeen30
Very poor tonight, looked devoid of ideas and didn’t take on his man enough for me. Yes again as always plenty of fouls against him which he is used to. I think if he was taking on men and driving into the box and men take him down it means they are in trouble and either take him down and get cards, and we get penalties. Games like tonight I find so frustrating. He has all the qualities.
Popular Post Keyblade
This site amazes me, literally everything good that we did today went through him, as usual. Consistently got our wingers into dangerous positions through his touch and vision. There's nobody in our team with the awareness or ability to do that. It's not his fault they had zero end product and were tripping over themselves before they could even cross. But yeah, he didn't have a hat trick of goals and assists so he was shit and "offered nothing". Give me a **** break.
Guest av1
We need 2 keepers, a LB, a RB, a CB, and a ball playing midfielder. It's highly unlikely we are going to raise much money from selling off the shit and FFP has a firm grip off our bollocks. Whatever you think of Jack a sale might be our only option. deeps
He missed McGinn next to him tonight. Thor was a miss too. Jack is still our outlet to attack.
