They always have a significant buffer, and they can attract the players they want because they can offer... Champions League football. It's a huge deal when you think about it, just look at Liverpool who are now struggling to sign players because they are out of the loop. Players not wanting to go to Liverpool when they came calling was almost unthinkable for the best part of 40 years, and its all been undone in the space of two or three seasons away from the big cup.
