Summer Transfer Window 2023

I still think we will move for Brennan Johnson. He can play anywhere across the front three and gives us even more pace and energy to the attack.

Whatever happens I suspect the focus will shift to off loading some players now. We will need to free up some wages at some stage. The three players bought in so far will be on massive wages compared to the rest of our squad, with a few obvious exceptions.

As exciting as this window is, I really hope we sign a back up goalkeeper of a decent standard this window. We’re starting to see real quality of two players for every position, but any significant injury to Martinez and then the drop off in quality using Olsen is massive.

Brennan Johnson is one that I really hope we can sign now.

We should have a fair bit of budget left this summer considering how well we've done with the Diaby and Torres fees, and that doesn't include anything we can recoup through sales.

Excellent window so far.

for me, I would now like:

  • A backup keeper that doesn't give me tourettes.
  • A right back.
  • A forward (Ferran, Johnson or similar)

Anything over and above that is just Cream on the cake.

Agree with Mazrim.... Either Doku on a perm or Torres on loan with an option to buy, a specialist RB and a reliable backup GK who would have composure rated as above 4 on FM. That would set us right.

More would be a bonus.

Would KWP be worth a punt from Southampton or do people feel like he's not a massive improvement at RB?

Do you think we’ll play with a “traditional” RB?

Depends what system we play. If we want both fullbacks at attack, sure. If not, then I’d prefer someone more solid there.

Liveramento is supposed to be going to Newcastle, can’t see them selling two right backs in the same window.

Really hope we are looking at Fresneda. Young and dynamic right back with pace. Got a big future ahead of him.

What has happened to the links to players like Guendouzi who can play a more defensive midfield role? I thought that was an area we intended to strengthen.

Guendouzi's more attacking tbf and the reason the interest cooled I dare say, is because John McGinn happened. Since Unai arrived, he went up several levels and hasn't looked back.

Tielemans can play a holding role deeper (as a DLP) and in a more attacking role, so he's basically the rotation option for McGinn IMO. I doubt we'll be looking at another CM.
