How about that, pick a balanced team, sure up the centre mid and it releases everyone to play to their strengths.

All the pundits will start wailing about the players letting Gerrard down but **** that, complete opposite is true. Lovely to see them show what they are capable of when they aren't hamstrung from the off.

A formation without the obvious holes and flaws that the other guy used. Players in their favored positions where they can use their strengths and get help with their weaknesses. 

Players daring to be aggressive as they know teammates are covering for the. More direct passing as players had options with teammates moving and creating space. 

Luiz looking stupendous in the double pivot (who knew...) Buendia dominating both on and off the ball. Most of the team putting in performance of the season and we looked like a TEAM.

The formation and selection loads of people have been asking for ( of what was available) 

The difference in both the players and the people on the bench was like night and day. Shame we had to wait so long for that doomed appointment to be gone.

Utterly fantastic performance!

Yeah, bit of a shame really. 

I thought that would be a bit of good man-management to give him a few minutes.

But I do get that Ramsey and McGinn needed sweetening up and keeping onside....and that Chambers and Archer needed cajoling too.

If Sanson isn't on next match, I think he may be done.

I was genuinely starting to wonder about the ability of some of these players, but they’ve shown me two things. 

1) I know absolutely nothing

2) How **** delicious humble pie for utter idiots tastes 

The lads did us proud today and any potential new manager watching that must be getting moist in his underpants about working with them and about what could be achieved at this club.

Unbelievable performances all over the pitch.

So hard to pick a  MOTM, but Bailey's two unbelieveable contributions so early is what set the tone for me, and he's had such a hard time, he gets my vote.

But honestly, any one of them couldve had it.

 

The answer was so damn simple.  

Just take the pressure of those not performing by using your damn squad.  McGinn and JJ have been pretty dire all season, just give them a rest for the love of God, and that buffoon may still have had a job.

Luiz and Bailey neck and neck in the MOtM vote at the time of writing; Bailey looked shorn of all the clumsy neuroticism of his recent performances and just seemed to be enjoying himself and living up to his Bundesliga highlight reels; Luiz was an absolute bastard in midfield all game

Nice to see Ings excited that Watkins had finally finished off his miniature suite of chances, despite being on a hat trick and being in a position where he could have steamed in and finished it himself; also nice to see some confident, creative short passing on the edge of the area

Older viewers will recall everyone thinking Kevin McDonald should get the job full time after a good post-M'ON start in 2010  and us then losing 6-0 to Newcastle, so not getting carried away, but for now: Thanks Danks - Thdanks

Some of these players need to take a look at themselves if a new manager coming in increases their effort levels like that. But obviously delighted with the performance and result. The team tweaks were sensible and worked. 

Great to have some positivity back 

Btw I left country Thursday and since then Truss gone, Gerrard sacked and a 4-0 win. I should go on holiday more often
