He's **** up for their first, but I'm not sure why Olsen gave it him on the edge of the box with a man up his ass. If I remember correctly, it was also directly after two/three other close passes between CBs that were getting pressed high. I think that one could've gone long imo. I agree with this - yes it might have been 'embarrassing' to be punting aimless long balls downfield or trying to get to the corner flag against a League 2 side, but less embarrassing than losing the game anyway. It's good to 'play the right way' but I think in any game against any opposition if you're only a goal to the good and there wouldn't be time to get one back if they score, you need to go into full-on 'seeing it out' mode. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Other positions are more problematic as Gerrard decided that wingers are an obsolete concept. Give Unai a couple of transfer windows and I'm sure we'll look a lot better and a lot more stable and settled.
