Coutinho played well. He wasn’t the issue today.

He played well for 30 minutes and then faded and then fell over and then went off. Being mediocre for half an hour instead of useless for 90 minutes doesn't equate to "played well" for me !

Abject.  We're bottom 6 and hard to see us getting anything from the next two on this showing, so expect we'll be bottom 3 after 6 games.  Purslow needs to admit his mistake and earn his money.  We'd have been better off keeping Deano than employing this Charlatan.

The idea that Gerrard is using this job as a step up to the job at Liverpool when Klopp eventually goes is a somewhat fanciful.

He seems tactically inept and that out there is a team completely lacking in motivation, there's absolutely no sense of urgency at all

Moyes makes a change at half time to affect the game, and West Ham come out a better team. Gerrard just does like-for-like changes in a system that isn't working.

He is out of his depth. He really really needs to go.

That Moyes sounds a weirdo with his tactical changes. Like voodoo at Villa

We really took it easy on Wet Spam today. We lack any intensity and only some reckless (and hopeless) abandon late on raised any sort of tempo.

Waiting till Coutinho cramped up and then subbing Luiz as well shows how badly we are being managed. Their otherwise passive midfield suddenly had the run of the game and we concede: McGinn and Ramsey leave Kamara completely isolated in the middle of the pitch (Ramsey more so as he likes to play wide) and we struggle to retain possession or play out.

This isn't about mcginn. It's Gérard fault.

Bit harsh, Houllier died a few years back unless he offers tactical advice to SG from beyond the grave

We are really **** 😂

He played ok, but a player of his calibre should be running an attack.

Problem is he just runs into a wall of defenders. We play so narrow it allows defenses to collapse on him or stack on players taking away outlets. We saw the same issues when Buendia started against Crystal Palace.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one.

And yet no one wanted Moyes or Howe. Villa are also victims of their own arrogance. We are most certainly not too good for these managers.

Slippy g with his disastrous subs. Leaves mcginn on and takes off the impressive luiz and what happens the midfield falls apart.

Plays no wingers YET again even though its shown to get the best out of players like bailey.

Simon jordan was right with his anaylsis when we appointed him.

Slippy g = clueless useless and overall a horrible human being. The way he has treated mings has been nothing short of disgraceful

Bruce had us in a mess but we waited until his replacement was pretty much in place before pulling the trigger. Dean was looking lost for a while but we didn’t let him go before we had his, admittedly poor replacement ready to go. I can’t imagine we aren’t actively trying to find a replacement. If Purslow delays too long or gets the next appointment wrong again then he’ll be on thin ice too.

Hilarious how he found a much more solid midfield combo and in a state of panic reverted back to Ramsey and McGinn. The man is clueless. He doesn't even attempt to change the shape. Just like for like subs game after game.

His 2 striker formation has now failed him as well wonder what he resorts to now.

Agree Luiz and kamara could cover mcginn and we kept the ball very well stupid Steve has to get his subs on and dosnt choose them in relation to hiw the games going.

Gerrard out
