With Cash injured, maybe we’ll see him start against Forest with Konsa at RB…?

Probably not, but just a thought.

No chance, think he's a few more practise games away yet...

No need to rush him after such a serious injury.

Think Chelsea might be too soon for him, maybe come on as a sub but don't think he'll start.

Should we be concerned much?

Not a minute of action when players like Digne and Chambers who are never going to be starters are getting time. He's not warmed up in half the games either. He's there in name only.

Achilles finished Benteke.

At the moment we have centre backs in form. There is no need to rush him in my opinion. Every day is a day more of recovery.

When we do need to see him is in the last 4 weeks . To see if we will need another cb or not

Definitely.

No rush, Konsa and Mings have conceded 1 goal (which was a penalty) in last 5 games... if it ain't broke don't fix it.

It was initially thought Carlos might not even play again this season the injury was that serious, no need to rush him back.

Chambers was playing a more versatile role and not just as a CB.

Not at all...  The fact that he has recovered this quickly is remarkable.  Usually Achilles ruptures take 10-12 months to fully heal because explosive movement can so easily cause the tendon to tear again.  It used to be a career ender as recently as 15 years ago, but with modern world class treatment, athletes can expect almost full recovery.  I know everyone really wants to see him on the pitch as quickly as possible, but we're incredibly lucky to even have him available for selection at this point.  Let's take it easy and make sure he's ready to compete for a starting spot in preseason.

He should be concerned about the form of Konsa and Mings. It's a battle to dislodge them at the moment.

Chambers came on to play the CDM / CB hybrid in place of Kamara so there was no opportunity for Carlos there at all.

Digne is a left back. Carlos isn't so I don't see how he is relevant at all.

Finally Benteke came back from his injury and was absolutely outstanding again for us and that's what earned him his big money move to Liverpool.

You should know more about the club you support imo. Benteke scored 11 goals in his last 11 PL games for Villa.

More recovery time for an Achilles injury for a CB over 30 who will be asked to do a lot of jumping. Even him being back on the bench would be a remarkably fast recovery.

Prudency would say to shut him down for the rest of the season when we'll need him more for whatever entails next season (Europe, cup runs, etc)

They are playing well for sure.

Those players aren't ever going to be starters for us if everyone is fit and ready. The plan for Carlos is to be a starter and he's not even had 5 mins.

Dendonk another who came in for clearly first choice Luiz. We haven't seen Carlos get 5 mins instead of Konsa. Just wondering why.

That injury finished him. He was never the same. Can't help you if couldn't see that. You should have paid more attention.

Still been taking an interest in his recovery. I noticed he joined in the pre game warm up yesterday with other players for the first time but not the whole warm up and was still about 10-15 minutes later than everyone else coming onto the pitch.

He was out at half time as well having missed previous weeks and warmed up on the side of the pitch a few times. I think he's still a long way from being involved and it will probably only come if forced by injuries etc.

I think he’s been on the bench at times so he feels part of the squad after such a difficult start here rather than because he’s been genuinely considered ready to play.

With Konsa and Mings playing so well there’s no need to risk him by rushing him back, and equally there’s no need to risk disrupting the team by changing up the centre back pairing at this stage of the season either.

Maybe. But not because he probably won’t play this season. It was a pretty nasty injury. Id be more concerned about whether he is the same player again for next season.  The move has been pretty shit luck for him and the club.

Emery doesn't make subs for the sake of making subs and I like it.

100% professional. Even Watkins ovation sub he left until the very last minute.

agree...the clean sheet was the icing on the cake. there was no way he was throwing carlos in against a pressing team like that

i doubt we'll see very much of him at all this season
