Watkins has been good as has Ings. VillaChris Posted March 5, 2022 Share Posted March 5, 2022 Quality first half that, I had a feeling we'd play well today. So often in 3pm games at VP we start off at a snail pace, not today. Coutinho world class in all but finishing today. Easily best performance from Ings-Watkins aswell, no issue if they could've linked up like that six months ago. Southampton may not be full of world class players but they're one of form teams of 2022 so this performance not to be just dismissed. Just hope we don't come out flat start of second half and give them hope as more goals in this for us. Also a good one to bring in Bailey for later with space they're offering. Should already have a hat trick! TBF we won't have had that brilliant second if he'd slotted one of the chances. Total sitter at 2-0 though. He's breezing through this with the space Southampton give him. If we want to win more of these types of home games next season we need to be signing him permanently.
