Saw a team in the late 60s Didn’t look that special. Then a brash young coach got hold of them, and moulded those same players into a team that stormed the second division and won the title the following year. That team was Derby County. Good coaching and a playing style, can make a difference.

Also lots and lots of bungs help.

Really intrigued that he had a spell coaching in Brazil. Think that would give quite an insight for any coach

Assistant to Rogerio Ceni it wasn't a successful coaching role but if it means Martinez popping up to tale free kicks then I am excited 😁

this is very interesting, talks about how much he learnt from Klopp, and ensuring the u23s played very similar to the seniors to help them progress, but also talks about how he learnt so much from Klopp in terms of tactics, demands on player efforts etc etc.

He talks about the physical demands Klopp put on his players initially, and how some of them "broke", but Klopp still kept on with the high demands and the players adapted.

If Beale brings this mentality to Villa, @TRO is gonna be orgasmic! 😜

If the Gerard experiment goes tits up, we have this guy waiting in the wings. 😁

If he lives up to the impression I get from reading about him and listening to him talk, I'd hope we lay the groundwork for it, if we do well and SG goes you know where and MB wants it of course.

very interesting.

Talks a good game, been around the best in the game and what he said about working with Jurgen Klopp and how it went against his Cruyff fantasist nature to coach so much without the ball to get good defensive shape is exactly what we need at the moment. The development expertise is a great fit too. If this change is going to be a success I think this lad is a big piece of the puzzle.
