He's just had another shoutout in the post-match interview from Ezri Konsa.  He's doing something right.

Yup. We looked shit at set peices a few weeks ago, but let's be honest, we looked shit at everything, some of the early criticism (which I certainly chipped in to) was just a bit unfair

OK, which one of you jokers hijacked my account a few weeks ago and started questioning MacPhee.

plenty of others were, i wouldn't worry. social media was pretty ugly towards him particularly.

we will never know whether it was mcphee, smith, or shakespere that was telling cash to long throw every time the ball went out of play in their half (which was the main source of the criticism towards him) but no question having  a set piece specialist is proving valuable for us

when our main game plan for 3 or 4 games seemed to consist of play for throw ins and get cash to launch the ball regardless of where on the pitch the throw in is, it was completely right to question him and his influence.

We can only go off what we see on the pitch and draw our own conclusions from it, we can also be proven wrong as well.

Some of the posts were way over the top.

Was a very bizarre scapegoat but with the specific shoutout today and I can’t remember us looking this dangerous from set-plays since MON, he deserves massive credit.

He's been reigned in. Good. Set piece coaches are good. Nobody ever debated that.

It was when it got to the point where any throw in on the opposition half was an over bloated set piece routine. It was farcical.

We had a right to worry though, we were conceding goals from set pieces, lads were running into each other and at a defensive corner they were passing a note about haha!

Maybe the boys are just getting to grips with it.

Either way! It’s working now. Fair play!

you know that do you? or maybe the long throws were all smith's idea...mcphee might even have objected to them and was overruled.
