Just listening to Tim Vickery (the South America correspondent) on the World Football Phone In podcast and he gets Asked about Alvarez (about 11 minutes in) and says he is pure class and says he would be an amazing signing and if he had to compare him to any former Villa striker it’d be Gary Shaw.

More chance of getting a blow job off the pope than this happening

We have loads of options in attack, think he'll be introduced gradually. No pressure on him this season to come in and play, get used to a new culture, continent and new living and working environments. Looking forward to seeing him off the bench and in cups and hope he can impress.

Due to his sporting performance, Aston Villa would automatically obtain permission to register River Julian Alvarez's player for reaching the 15 points required by the new Premier League recruitment system for foreign players based on:

✅ Matches with the senior and youth team (sub 20 juice) Ninth FIFA ranking.✅ League of origin, Argentina is classified as a first level league.✅ Quality of the selling team and its position in the league.✅ games played with the club.

✅ In case of obtaining the player, the work permit does not count as a foreign quota.
✅ A maximum quota of 3 foreign players under 21 (Alvarez is 20 years old) that a club can sign is allowed.

Nicknames, awesome!

Jack, the Magician

Martinez, the Maid (always clean sheets 🤪😂)

McGinn, the Kardashian (big rump)

….

Ha ha. I think I’d prefer Martinez to be “The Virgin” because of the clean sheets.

Tim Vickery is the go to guy for South American football. If he rates him that highly, time to get excited!

Yep. Believe he only ever got 1 recommendation wrong in Raphael Sheidt (pronounced Shite) and he always gets ribbed for that. Would be a fantastic signing I reckon and made it into the final Copa squad ahead of Buendia so must have something about him. 🤞
