Poor display, but no scapegoat imho. Dean Smith needs a plan B.

Positively, after conceding 3 against Burnley and Spam we've not conceded in two. Something to build on.

Would like to see us play with more men deeper in the centre against teams playing with 3 in the middle and wingbacks. Think we'd control the game better.

V poor, disjointed performance. Couldn’t deal with their press in the first half and then we forgot how to hit basic passes once they had tired in the second. 
 

Martinez was excellent. 
 

The hit and hope passing gave Watkins little to play with, Jack was off the pace. Traore played poorly and couldn’t deal with Brighton’s physicality. Barkley gives little defensively and looks like the weak link in that midfield. 
 

Nice cameo for Sanson. Looks industrious.

Well that was a hard watch. On the plus side we defended well and Martinez was exceptional but Brighton never gave us any space on the ball and we obliged with our worst display of football all season.

Any Villa team post MON pre Smith loses that by a couple of goals. We were way way off where we know we can be and we still got a point. Konsa is class, once Cash went off our right was crippled pretty much. Need a better squad to be able to change things off the bench when we are under performing like that.
