Summer transfer window 2021

Jonathan Bamba or Nanitamo Ikone ,

Baboucar Kamara or Kepheren Thuram

Dani Olmo. (?) If not Bamba or Ikone.

Bailey.

We also need a captain or two. Let's see how ambitious NSWE really are.

To replace Jack we need to find someone like the Sabre toothed diving knobend. (Fernandes).

IF Grealish is indeed sold I'd be OK with a transition/rebuild season where we bring in players with a long term plan rather than "win now" players.

We are never going to be able to replace Grealish with any player we can attract, but we can build a team with the money that makes us better than we currently are if we give it time and are smart. Even thou there are no doubt players in the PL that could improve us or help us I'd generally like us to look abroad for signings. Value in money is night and day but of course it means more job for the coaches to help these player integrate, settle and learn the league.

It is a marathon not a sprint.

Obviously I'd rather Grealish stayed and we built that team around him.

ASM is valued closer to £70m unfortunately. It would definitely take more than 50.

He probably should be if a club doesn't want to sell him and I bet he is by their fans. I'd understand if that's what they asked for him.

Do I believe if you wag £40m+ Infront of Mike Ashley he says no? Not really. Might take £50m but he's not holding out for £70m

Cantwell is Can't well! He is average, he can't help propel us into Europe. JWP is a freekick specialist who won't get many freekicks in dangerous positions without Jack. Sarr is 18 with only half a season behind him in France. How can that combined replace Jack Grealish. For a club like Villa, replacing Jack with one player is impossible. If we were Man City and Jack left us we would need to spend 150 to 200 million to buy Mbappe or Neymar.  To replace Jack with 3 or 4 players it's still extremely difficult. We would need to get Bailey, Alvarez and Bissouma, Locatelli, and ESR!

Bissouma is too expensive, far better buying abroad at his crazy price

Yeah... But we're going to get taken to the cleaners.

Is he a better bet for us than £35-40m on Ismaila Sarr? I think so. Is he a better bet than Todd Cantwell replacing Grealish? Yeah I think so too.

Like I said £40m+ add ons is fair. We are going to get rinsed by every club for every player though.  We're going to overpay for somebody (probably everybody) or end up with very little..

The players you can get as a wide forward on the continent for half that are as good.

He would be massively expensive but he's also acclimatised to English football. Signings from abroad no matter how much potential they have will always carry an element of risk.

ASM -Buendia-Bailey

Bailey-Buendia-Sarr

Cantwell-Buendia-Bailey

I know which id choose. I'd still like to play Buendia on the right to be honest but I'm struggling to think of a class #10 we can go and get to play

Bailey-???-Buendia

As it stands, out of all the options, I'd prefer ASM

That's what we pay scouts for, to find players who aren't overpriced

Bailey for £35m for example looks alright

After that rather than ASM for or Sarr for £40m+ I'd rather go deeper in to the scout reports, go unearth someone, don't over pay because someone else's scout has already done the work

Yes. But we've said Prem experience is our number one goal this window. I'd love us to be going after Aouar, Cherki, Nkunku but we won't be. I'm surprised we've gone for Bailey tbh. Hopefully we pull something out of the bag but I can't see us looking to the continent

@Philosopher totally agree, IMO JWP == Younger Hourihane.

if you think JWP is the same as a younger Hourihane, you need to get ur head checked m8, u have clearly never watched JWP if u think that.

I can honestly see us making a move for Cantwell if Jack moves on. And for where we are right now, I don't think it would be a bad replacement. Obviously keeping Jack is optimal but it's looking pretty unlikely to me. Though, not sure Norwich would want to sell him though. Wonder if we'll firm our interest in Arrascaeta if Jack goes and play him down the middle with Bailey & Buendia on the flanks?

Leeds linked with Damsgaard. Looked class at the Euro's. Would be a good option at the reported £22m, certainly better than Cantwell for the CAM role.

Yup, he'd be a perfect signing if Grealish moves, be great if he stays too of course. Wanted us to sign him all year, been really impressed with him at Sampdoria.

Yeah would be a good signing purely based on what I saw of him in the Euros.

De Arrascaeta and Cantwell as a backup, I'd take. Cantwell as a starting LW to replace Jack, absolutely not. But I could live with this.
